This is a popular flower in the Philippines. They’re often red, orange, yellow or even white.

These flowers grown in roundish bunches. Children play with the singles — picking off one end and pulling out the “needle” that has a light sweet liquid on it. Yes, the liquid seems to be non-poisonous because generations of Filipino children have put those “needles” in their mouths to taste the liquid and swallow it.
