Welcome to Tamaoho School.

Our Board and wonderful team are fully dedicated to our shared vision: "Involve me and I learn", preparing learners for success in an ever-evolving world beyond school.

At Tamaoho School, we believe in every child's potential to become a leader and lifelong learner. Our approach to learning revolves around FUN, authenticity and purpose, empowering learners to develop essential skills in reading, writing, mathematics and inquiry.

We strongly emphasise learner-focused relationships and Aroha for ourselves and each other. Our passionate team is dedicated to supporting learner well-being and instilling a love for learning in every child.

We take immense pride in utilising our sensational learning environment where each child can thrive and succeed. Visitors often remark on the special atmosphere and warm welcome they experience here from the moment they arrive at our school.

We are incredibly proud of the diverse cultures at Tamaoho School and embrace every opportunity to celebrate this richness. We also treasure the Bi-Cultural heritage of New Zealand through our daily Taikanga. It is who we are and builds a sense of identity and belonging for all.

Tamaoho School is a very special place where the emphasis is on academic progress and being good people!

Take a look for yourselves.

Our School

Our school is a Year 1-6 contributing school. Stage one will accommodate 350 learners, while stage two, 550. Stage two will be implemented when required and may not be built for a number of years. This will keep the teacher to learner ratios low.

Tamaoho School also includes satellite teaching spaces for Parkside Special School and a Sensory Resource Centre for Blind and Low Vision Education Network New Zealand (BLENNZ) with a teaching space.

We are very lucky to have one of the country’s newest schools, and it took a team of people a lot of effort to get us here. In fact, it took about two years and approximately 85,247 work hours to build our school! We had a total of 597 workers/visitors on-site over that time, and around 980 cubic metres of concrete was used during construction (that’s roughly enough concrete to fill two squash courts!). Watch our timelapse video.

Ngā mihi ki a koutou @EducationGovtNZ, contractors, our BOT and the school community. We love our new school!
