Foxborough Regional Charter School has received state approval to expand enrollment through Grade 10 beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, opening new high school entry opportunities for students across southeastern Massachusetts, according to a community announcement.

The approval was granted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, allowing the public charter school district to admit additional students as it grows its high school program.

Foxborough Regional Charter School is a K–12 public school district that enrolls students from more than 20 Massachusetts communities, including Taunton, Norton and Easton.

Taunton is among the school’s fastest‑growing sending districts, according to the announcement.

School leaders said the expansion will help widen access for students in Taunton and surrounding communities while maintaining a focus on academic rigor and preparation for college, careers and civic life.

Focus on academics and readiness

Foxborough Regional Charter School will admit Grade 10 students starting in 2026–27, expanding options for families in Taunton.

The expansion aligns with the school’s mission, “Enter to Learn, Exit to Lead,” and its long‑term goal of becoming a top‑performing district of choice for families seeking an inclusive and challenging educational environment, according to the announcement.

“We are thrilled to welcome more students into our growing high school community,” Executive Director Toby N. Romer said in the announcement. “This approval reflects the strength of our academic programming, student outcomes, and our commitment to serving students from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic and economic backgrounds.”

High school opportunities

Foxborough Regional Charter School’s high school program offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular options, including Advanced Placement courses, dual enrollment partnerships with multiple colleges and universities, expanded online coursework, athletic teams, clubs and honor societies, according to the announcement.

The school also offers college visits, instant decision days, financial aid support, STEM diploma pathways, career fairs, international travel opportunities and the Spanish Language Seal of Biliteracy.

School officials said the expansion supports goals outlined in the district’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2029, which emphasizes strong academic performance, inclusive school culture, effective leadership and operational excellence.
