Everton set £25m asking price as Bundesliga side resume chase for starlet (original) (raw)

Everton are open to selling winger Ademola Lookman this summer, as RB Leipzig have reignited their interest, according to a report.

Lookman has been with Everton since January 2017, but his best spell during that time came in his six-month loan to Leipzig in the second half of the 2017-18 season, in which he scored five goals in 11 appearances.

The Bundesliga side wanted to sign him permanently thereafter, but were told he was not for sale by manager Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands.

However, BBC Sport now claim that the Toffees’ position over the England youngster has changed, and that he will be available for transfer.

After Lookman made just three Premier League starts last season, Leipzig have made contact again, but the report claims they have fallen short of Everton’s £25m asking price – a fee determined by the winger’s young age and potential.

The 21-year-old was snubbed for England’s U21 Euros squad, who were eliminated in the group stages.
