Man Utd target wants out at PSG - but Old Trafford transfer a long shot | TEAMtalk (original) (raw)

Manchester United target Marco Verratti looks destined to leave PSG this summer, according to reports.

However, the chances of Verratti turning out in the red of United next season look slim, according to Calciomercato.

Italy playmaker Verratti is understood to be eager to start a new adventure after spending six years in France with PSG. His recent meeting with new manager Thomas Tuchel also did not go too well and that has further sparked suggestions the 25-year-old is on his way out.

The same outlet claimed earlier this month that he had fallen out with Tuchel over problems with his weight.

Tuchel is a renowned disciplinarian and is said to have told Verratti to shed some pounds after the pair met to discuss Verratti’s role with the team next season.

Jose Mourinho is understood to be an admirer of Verratti and in March Don Balon reported thatMourinho had told the club’s board to take advantage of PSG getting knocked out of the Champions League by offering Verratti a summer switch to Old Trafford.

And earlier this monthformer FIFA-accredited agent Vincent Rodriguez tweeted that the Red Devils were “deep in negotiations and at an advanced stages for Fred, Alex Sandro and Diogo Dalot,” as well as that “conversation with [Mino] Raiola have begun regarding Verratti.”

Calciomercato though claim Verratti is not keen on playing in the Premier League and any prospective negotiations with PSG will not be easy.

Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all believed to be interested and Raiola has already offered his client to both Spanish clubs.
