Pochettino turns to Portuguese trio to give Tottenham summer transfer lift | TEAMtalk (original) (raw)

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly added a Portuguese trio to his summer transfer wish list.

Winger Gelson Martins, right-back Cedric Soares and midfielder Ruben Neves are the three players in question, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Pochettino is said to want to increase his options in the wide areas, with Sporting Lisbon’s Martins able to play on both flanks, while Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha and Bordeaux’s Malcom are also said to be options.

The report also states that Spurs are watching Soares’ situation at Southampton, with the defender almost certain to leave if Saints are relegated this season.

Interest in Soares could see Spurs part ways with summer signing Serge Aurier, who has struggled to adapt to English football since his £23million switch from PSG.

Neves, who is Wolves’ record signing at £15m, has been outstanding as his side have clinched promotion back to the Premier League, and he is being tipped as a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele.

Tottenham are said to be open to offers for Belgian Dembele, who will head into the final 12 months of his contract this summer.
