Trio target Yaya Toure as free agent prepares Man City farewell | TEAMtalk (original) (raw)

Manchester City stalwart Yaya Toure is a reported target for West Ham, Newcastle and Brighton as the midfielder plans his City farewell.

The Ivory Coast star, who turns 34 on Saturday, looks certain to leave City on a free this summer as there have been no discussions over a new deal at the Etihad Stadium.

Toure is reportedly keen on remaining in the Premier League and according to the Daily Mirror that has alerted the Hammers as well as promoted duo Newcastle and Brighton, who will both be looking to strengthen their squads substantially this summer.

Toure has turned down offers from China and Serie A giants Inter Milan since joining City from Barcelona for £24m in 2010 and had hoped that he would be offered a new contract by Pep Guardiola.

However, it now seems inevitable that he will leave and that the City fans will get to say their farewells to a player they have idolized in the club’s final home game against West Brom next Tuesday.

Yaya Toure: Believes City rule in Manchester

Despite his advancing years, Toure has proved in the second half of this season that he can still be a force in England’s top flight and it is no great surprise that clubs are potentially queuing up for his signature.
