Euro Paper Talk: Paratici out to land dream Tottenham, Gleison Bremer deal and sway Man Utd plan (original) (raw)
Tottenham advancing their interest in a transfer target could affect Man Utd’s plans, while Arsenal are in a three-way right-back battle – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.
GLEISON BREMER WANTED BY TOTTENHAM
Tottenham reportedly want to strike a deal to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer, which could impact Manchester United’s plans for a new centre-back.
Both sides are looking to bolster their back lines as they aim to progress next season. Spurs have Champions League football to look forward to, while United are aiming to get back in the competition by finishing in the Premier League’s top four or winning the Europa League.
Reports in recent weeks have revealed a number of transfer targets for both sides to strengthen their defences.
Man Utd are still keen on Ajax’s Jurrien Timber, with Bremer a top target. Both sides have had links with Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni.
According to Tuttosport, Tottenham are advancing their pursuit of Bremer. Indeed, Paratici will meet with Torino director Davide Vagnati in London this week to hold talks about a deal for the Brazilian.
Paratici feels that Bremer can be ‘perfect’ for Conte and Tottenham, with the pair finding Serie A a happy transfer hunting ground.
However, Bremer’s preference at this stage is to move to Inter. If the Serie A champions fail in their pursuit of the 25-year-old, though, it could affect Man Utd’s hopes of signing Stefan de Vrij.
The Red Devils have registered interest in the Dutchman. He has only one year left on his deal and it remains unclear if he will renew.
The futures of Bremer, Bastoni and De Vrij are all somewhat intertwined and whoever makes the first move is likely to affect another deal in the pipeline.
As well as defenders, United are after a midfielder in what is a bigger priority for Erik ten Hag as it stands.
