NEO: The World Ends With You - 5 Things To Do After Beating The Game (original) (raw)
Just when you think NEO: The World Ends With You has ended, the game keeps on giving. Once the thrilling story comes to a conclusion, there's still a lot to do — you have items to collect, new bosses to fight, and even an entirely new day to tackle.
You can do these things in any order you want to. The game even encourages this by letting you travel to any individual day whenever you want — keep in mind, however, that you must begin the day from the beginning every time. Luckily, holding the right-hand shoulder button will let you zip through any text.
5 Unlock Ultimate Difficulty
Difficulty menu in Neo The World Ends With You
This should be one of your first priorities in the post-game of NEO: TWEWY. Unlocking Ultimate difficulty allows you to obtain a whole new tier of Pins from enemies and even increases the amount of EXP you earn from battles.
Be aware though, Ultimate difficulty is no joke, and the enemies found within are no pushovers. Consider grinding a little bit and eating the best food you can to improve your stats and therefore, your chances of survival — especially against the biggest and meanest foes.
4 Replay The Main Story To Collect What You Missed
via Square Enix
There are a lot of things to collect in this game and it's all too easy to miss a few things as you make your way through the days. Once you've completed the game, you may want to start combing through the previous chapters to collect all those juicy items and fill out your Collection.
This is a great idea as it's a fantastic way to get used to the Ultimate difficulty mode. Getting used to the more risky style of combat is easier when you start that process fighting against the easier enemies of the first week.
Side Quests

The Chapter menu will alert you to any missed Side Quests that you've yet to root out. This is an important step in finishing the game as not only will those quests fill out your Social Network and allow you to purchase new skills, they'll give you the FP that are crucial to unlocking the important new post-game skills — namely Ultimate difficulty and the ability to fight Boss Noise.
A tip for finding any side quests you've missed is to check your Mental Notes tab in the menu. Here, you can scroll through all your quests for the day - if there is a quest you haven't yet encountered the menu will helpfully tell you where to locate it.
Pig Noise
Once you have unlocked the respective ability on your Social Network, you will be able to see exactly how many Pig Noise symbols you have yet to defeat in each and every chapter. A separate Social Network ability will alert you in the top-left corner of the screen whenever there's a Pig Noise in the area, so you'll be sure never to miss one again.
The Pig Noise challenges get much, much harder as you progress through the chapters, so consider this a long-term goal and not something you need to complete all at once.
Scramble Slam Rewards
All of the teams in the Reaper's Game in Neo The World Ends With You
There are three chapters of the story that require you to play the Scramble Slam, a point-collecting tournament of battles. It can be quite hard to pick up all the points required to acquire every reward on your first time through these unique chapters.
Luckily, replaying these chapters with better Pins and higher levels makes the experience far less of an ordeal. In addition, turning on Ultimate difficulty will increase your point gain substantially, making it extremely easy to pick up those crucial rewards.
The garagara shop in Neo The World Ends With You
Now that the game is over, the shops in the game are stacked with their full inventories. It's easier than ever to complete your Collection and write your shopping lists to complete those frustrating trades.
This task will involve much grinding for the rare Pins that trades often require, such as Adamantite and Orichalcum, so be sure to note which enemies drop these Pins and get ready to fight them over and over.
2 Boss Rematches And Report Gathering
Boss fight against Grus Cantus in Neo The World Ends With You
Once you've unlocked the ability to take on Boss Noise, most days will feature a dark blue Noise symbol that contains a relevant boss. These are usually in the first area of that chapter or one very near it — so look around! The first time you defeat an individual Boss Noise you will receive a Secret Report, and you can also farm the bosses for their Pins.
There are 24 Secret Reports to collect, but not 24 Boss Noise symbols to fight. The remainder of the Secret Reports are acquired by filling out your Social Network, so make sure that's something you're taking care of too.
1 Take On Another Day
The main draw of the post-game is Another Day, which is an extra chapter. It features a new, short story that is nowhere near the canon of the game but has fun jokes, lighthearted dialogue, and some extremely rewarding challenges.
The main story of Another Day will have you facing off against souped-up versions of four story bosses. These can give you quite a lot of trouble so be aware. If you prevail, you might end up collecting some extremely valuable Pins.
It is also within Another Day that you can swap out one of your characters for Minamimoto. This is required if you want to use Minamimoto to mutate some Pins that only he can mutate, and also if you want to take advantage of any Threads that grant him exclusive abilities.
Dive The Final Dive
Nagi using her Dive ability in Neo The World Ends With You
Located in Dogenzaka is Rhyme, who is afflicted with a little Noise problem. This is Nagi's final Dive of the game and it's quite the marathon. There are ten rounds to complete and they're all very hard — and you only have 25 minutes to complete the whole Dive.
Fortunately, you'll be well compensated for your time. Unlike other Dives in the game that only reward two FP per rank achieved, this Dive will reward you with five FP per rank for a total of 15. This is great for unlocking a ton of useful Social Network abilities.
Attempt The Time Trial
At the other end of Shibuya in Takeshita Street is Coco, who has a problem of her own. This challenge is completely unique - it's a very difficult boss rush of most of the bosses in the game. Your time and difficulty will be recorded and it's quite the challenge.
This is a great way to test out your best Pin and Threads setups and is also a very easy way to farm Pins from bosses. This is especially true for the bosses who might otherwise be a bit inaccessible throughout the rest of the game, like the second Mr. Mew and second Susukichi fight.
Take On The Superboss
The Minamimoto Superboss in Neo The World Ends With You Another Day
If you seek the true ultimate challenge of the game, head to the Expressway Underpass in Another Day. Here you will find Minamimoto and a huge challenge - so huge that the game even warns you that this is not going to be an easy fight by any means.
This is a terribly difficult fight but it has great rewards that include some very valuable Pins if you manage to come out on top.
