Kamala Harris shares 3 words she told Biden

As a part of her media tour, Kamala Harris stopped by The View on Tuesday to chat with the panel of hosts.

She told the story of how she found out Joe Biden was stepping down from the 2024 presidential race, which started with a phone call from the President. Her first reaction was, "Are you sure?"

Kamala "set the scene" for the historic phone call, explaining she was spending time with family, especially her two nieces. Biden reached out while she was wearing workout clothes, serving breakfast, and working on a puzzle with the kids. "The phone rings, and I said, auntie will be right back and it was the President and he told me his decision," she recalled.

She asked President Biden about his confidence in his choice as it was a "big decision." After speaking with him for awhile, Kamala excitedly told the girls to go find their father to deliver the news.

The Vice President described the rest of the day as "surreal," admitting that one of the first people she called was her pastor. "I needed to talk to God," she said. "And to pray. I understood in real time what was happening and obviously it really set in in the hours and days to come."

Previously, Republicans criticized the Vice President for her lack of on-air appearances. In fact, Republican party VP nominee JD Vance even kept a running tab about her absence from the mainstream, documenting every day on X, formerly known as Twitter, prodding the hashtag #WheresKamala.

Tim Walz, Kamala's running mate, was hit with similar criticism. After Vance baselessly implied that it was an intentional act to keep him away, Vance's representative doubled down. He told NBC News: “Her running mate is nowhere to be seen since his catastrophic performance at the Vice Presidential debate. Perhaps Kamala Harris and the Cheney’s have shipped Tim Walz off to Guantanamo Bay in a bid to drop that dead weight off the Democratic ticket."

Kamala has been spending time focusing on a media tour

Recently, Kamala upped her game when it comes to interviews, including appearing on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast. The presidential hopeful spoke with the young media mogul about, among other things, women's reproductive rights. She emphasized her commitment to abortion rights and stressed the importance of bodily autonomy.

Furthermore, she shutdown naysayers who are doubting her ability to lead. She told Alex: “So, I have been told that many times and through the course of my career, I’ve been told you know, at one point, 'You’re too young.' I’ve been told, 'No one like you has ever done that before, oh they’re not ready for you,' Oh and this is the one that kills me, 'It’s going to be a lot of hard work.' Right, as though we don’t like hard work."
