A press release from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office confirmed authorities attended the 8000 block of Bagdad Road for an "unknown emergency".

The two bodies are believed to have died in a murder-suicide, and were later identified as 40-year-old nurse Jessica Hager and her sister-in-law's ex who is belived to have shot Hager before turning the gun on himself.

Initially the shooter's name was not released, but law authorities have now confirmed his identity as Michael Rahmlow. Rahmlow is believed to be the ex partner of Hager's sister-in-law, although the reason for the violence against Hager has not been confirmed.

Hager's husband was also believed to have been at the scene but escaped, and avoided being shot. The motive for the shooting is currently unclear and the incident remains under investigation. Rahmlow, Hager, and her husband, all knew each other, per law enforcement.

Rahmlow had allegedly traveled to Kentucky from Wisconsin. According to the SCCO, Hager was also from there. Speaking to FOX 56, a witness at the scene said: "There was 11 police cars over here, and I don’t know where all they were from. They had them lined up. She was a fantastic person."
