Quest Gulliford made the life changing decision after beating cancer

A man who beat cancer and then spent $70,000 (£55,000) on tattoos has shared his transformation which included getting his eyelids tattooed.

Quest Gulliford, who beat Hodgkin's Lymphoma, got his first tattoo in 2009 and has since spent a whopping $70,000 (£55,000) to cover his entire body in ink. He recently revealed the process of getting both his eyeballs blacked out with ink. "It definitely took a lot of preparation mentally," he told his TikTok followers. "It was definitely high risk, high reward, especially since I've wanted it done for so long... and I'm still very happy with it three years later."

Gulliford also shared that the eye-tattooing procedure cost him 10,000intotal,or10,000 in total, or 10,000intotal,or5,000 per eyeball. He warned others that the procedure is irreversible. "This is a question: can you get your eyeball tattoos removed? And that's a huge no," he said.

He added: "And that's why it took me six years to actually think if I wanted to get it or not. I actually got the contacts that everyone thinks I'm wearing now..." Guilford shared that getting his eyeballs tattooed was tough. "It took me a long time actually on the day once I walked into the shop in Houston, Texas to even psych myself up to even get it done," he explained.

He got his first tattoo, a cross with "God First" on his chest, in 2009 and later, at 18, his first face tattoo, which his mom didn't like. "When I got bigger ones... That's when she started showing up the shop and trying to talk the artists out of doing it," he said with a laugh.

Some tattoos are about his fight with cancer, including a purple ribbon. Guilford talked about beating Hodgkin's Lymphoma: "I had a big lymph node growing... I didn't think anything of it. It was about six months of chemotherapy. I kind of felt like a superhuman after that."

People online were divided as to whether or not they'd get their eyes tattooed for $10,000. One person said, "Wow I really don't think I could have a needle in my eye, it definitely takes some courage." Another thought it was 'cool', but someone else asked, "Why not just wear contacts?" Guilford is planning to go back and add more tattoos to his eyes soon.
