Winds blow in as opener “_Pale Figure_” creeps up, before some large riffs fly around. It’s a got a bit of a doom feel to the rock and when the vocal arrives there’s a good atmosphere. It is quite a long track and doesn’t really launch until almost the end, and I do think it could have done so earlier. There’s a lot more life to start the next and it’s good to see some variety so early. It settles into an up tempo quasi doom vibe and is a solid number. There’s plenty in every department to satisfy. As this continues it’s a succession of variations on a theme. It has hard rock at its heart but with the threat of something southern, as well as lots of doom elements. The vocal is excellent, clean with a handful of gravel. The songs have multiple parts most of the time, and plenty of hooky riffs. They also feel different to one another. All in all this is very decent stuff.18/20
