Human skull found in fishing net in Sedili waters (original) (raw)
KOTA TINGGI: A skull belonging to a man was found stuck in a fishing net at 113 nautical miles (209.27km) of Tanjung Sedili waters near here.
Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said that the skull was discovered by a captain of a local fishing vessel at 3am on June 6.
“We have summoned the 44-year-old local man to assist with the investigation,’’ he said in a statement.
Supt Yusof said the skull was sent to the Forensic Unit of Kota Tinggi Hospital for follow-up action and the examination was conducted by the Forensic Medical Officer Dr Zubair Abdul Razak.
“Dr Zubair has confirmed that the skull belongs to an adult male aged between 20 and 30 years old,’’ he said, adding that the case is being classified as a sudden death report (SDR).
Supt Yusof called upon those who lost a family member or have any information on the case to contact the Kuala Sedili Police Station chief SM Mohammad Aizat Ahmad at 018-2464667.
