MEGHAN Markle and Kate Middleton dazzled as they took their seats at Wimbledon's Ladies' Finals today.

The Duchess of Sussex teamed a striped Ralph Lauren shirt with a pair of wide leg white trousers. And while Meghan's outfit was the perfect ensemble for a day of tennis, there's said to be a very subtle reason why she chose to wear Ralph Lauren.

Eagle-eyed Meghan Markle fans might recall that the 36-year-old attended Wimbledon two years ago, during her height of fame in US TV show, Suits.

Meghan is said to have been invited by Ralph Lauren, and attended with a lady called Violet von Westenholz, a PR for the designer and also, Harry's childhood friend.

Although not confirmed, it has been reported that Violet is the mutual friend behind their relationship.

In the BBC interview the couple gave following their engagement announcement, Meghan revealed: "It was definitely a set-up...It was a blind date. I didn't know much about him and so the only thing I had asked her when she said she wanted to set us up was, I had one question, I said: 'Was he nice?'"

Of course, Prince Harry was nice and it seems Meghan has taken the opportunity to pay tribute to what could have been the events that led to her meeting her new husband.

Fans even believe Meghan is wearing the same boater hat she opted for two years ago.

It's not the first time Meghan is believed to have used fashion as a statement.
