Simon O’Malley, Headmaster at Thomas’s Battersea, said: “We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas’s Battersea.

"We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”

Charlotte attended a different nursery to her brother with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge choosing to send her to Willcocks Nursery school in South Kensington.

George meanwhile was a pupil at Westacre Montessori School in King’s Lynn as the family were living in Anmer Hall in Norfolk at the time.

They later moved to Kensington Palace before their second child Charlotte was born.

St Thomas's boasts a theatre, a gymnasium, a ballet room, pottery room, along with two libraries, an Astroturf and a rooftop playground.

Pupils can also enjoy extracurricular clubs such as pottery, fencing and golf with a lavish lunch to keep them going throughout the day.

Former pupils of the school include model Cara Delevingne and singer Florence Welch.

But it doesn't come cheap sending youngsters to the elite London prep school.

The exclusive establishment charges the princely sum of £17K-a-year for their students.

Charlotte turned four at the beginning of the month and is said to have spent her birthday throwing a “rowdy party with lots of friends.”

In celebration of Princess Charlotte’s birthday, three charming photos were released by the palace, after being snapped by mum Kate last month.
