The Saturdays singer and former JLS band member believe the programme is well suited to them because of their love of music.

Speaking to The Mirror, they said: "It’s our first stand-alone show together. The fact it’s a format based on our love of music makes it all the more rewarding.

“We frequently put each other’s knowledge to the test at home, so we cannot wait to see how the contestants get on.”

The show will be a six-part series, and will see three couples go head to head each week to take home the whopping £10,000 cash prize.

The game will see contestants put their music knowledge to the test as they name the title and artist of numerous tracks from various eras they listen to.

The programme has been likened to the hit show Name That Tune, which was presented by Tom O'Connor back in 1976, followed by Lionel Blair until 1988, before it was revived by musician Jools Holland in 1997 for one year.

BBC producers have high expectations for the upcoming game show.

A producer said: "Playlisters will get viewers shouting at the telly."

BBC boss Kate Phillips thinks Playlisters will become the next big thing to watch on the weekend.

She said: "I can’t think of a better way to kick off Saturday nights. Hosted by the deeply competitive Rochelle and Marvin Humes, it’ll have everyone at home singing along.”

Although Playlisters will mark Rochelle and Marvin's first stand alone show, they have worked with one another before.

The couple often co-host This Morning together, in the absence of Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, or Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, and more recently the pair presented Children In Need together.

Marvin and Rochelle - who have daughters Alaia-Mai and Valentina together - also boast a string of solo presenting gigs.

The Up hitmaker fronted Smile back in 2004, as well as The Next Great Magician and Ninja Warrior.

Rochelle also has her own Heart radio show, while Marvin has his own slot on Capital radio.
