The CC1352R multi-band wireless MCU is part of the SimpleLink™ microcontroller (MCU) platform which consists of Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® Low Energy, Sub-1 GHz, Thread, Zigbee®, 802.15.4 and host MCUs, which all share a common, easy-to-use development environment with a single core software development kit (SDK) and rich tool set. A one-time integration of the SimpleLink platform enables you to add any combination of the portfolio’s devices into your design, allowing 100 percent code reuse when your design requirements change. This LaunchPad kit supports programming and debugging from Code Composer Studio™ and IAR Embedded Workbench® integrated development environments (IDEs).

Bluetooth® Low Energy

Kickstart your development with the SimpleLink CC26x2R LaunchPad and the SimpleLink CC13x2 and CC26x2 SDK, which includes the Texas Instruments royalty-free Bluetooth low energy (BLE) software protocol stack (BLE5-Stack) component supporting development of single-mode Bluetooth 5 applications on the ARM® Cortex®-M4F based CC2652R and CC242R. TI offers support for long range mode, high speed mode, advertising extensions, and up to 32 connections.

Thread

Launch your development of Thread-based applications with the SimpleLink CC13x2 and CC26x2R SDK, which includes tools, application examples, documentation and source code of the Thread 1.1 networking protocol based on openthread, an open-source implementation of the Thread networking stack. Example applications such as a door lock, window shades, thermostat and temperature sensor applications, based on Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) running atop of the Thread networking stack are released to kick-start the SW design of end equipment sets.

Zigbee®

The SimpleLink SDK Zigbee stack contains everything needed for a Zigbee compliant solution, including tools, application examples, documentation, and source code. It also includes a Zigbee Pro compliant Zigbee stack, as well as Green Power (GP) device and sink support. Example applications include door lock, light, switch, temperature sensor and thermostat, and are Zigbee certification-ready. The Zigbee stack also includes support for Zigbee Network Processor configuration, which can be used in two chip architectures where the host implements the Cluster Library and the Zigbee applications.

Sub-1 GHz

The SimpleLink CC1352R LaunchPad and the SimpleLink CC13x2 and CC26x2R SDK support Sub-1 GHz long range star networks using the TI 15.4-Stack. The SimpleLink Sub-1 GHz 15.4 stack is a complete standards-based solution for connecting long-range, low power sensors in the home, building, and city. The SimpleLink Sub-1 GHz 15.4-Stack supports 200+ nodes, enables network management, security, and frequency hopping. The 15.4-Stack also ensures successful transmissions using MAC layer acknowledgements, listen-before-talk, and CSMA/CA.

The SimpleLink™ Low Power F2 Software Development Kit (SDK), formerly known as the CC13xx and CC26xx SDK, delivers components that enable engineers to develop applications on the Texas Instruments SimpleLink CC13xx and CC26xx family of wireless microcontrollers (MCUs). This software toolkit provides a cohesive and consistent software experience for all SimpleLink CC13xx and CC26xx wireless MCU users by packaging essential software components, such as a Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) protocol stack supporting Bluetooth 5.2, Zigbee 3.0 compliant protocol suite, RF-Proprietary examples, TI's 15.4 Stack, TI Wi-SUN FAN Stack, Amazon Sidewalk examples, as well as the TI-RTOS7 kernel and TI Drivers in one easy-to-use software package along with example applications and documentation. In addition, the Dynamic Multi-Protocol Manager (DMM) software component enables multiprotocol development on a single SimpleLink wireless MCU.

SmartRF™ Studio is a Windows application that can be used to evaluate and configure Low Power RF devices from Texas Instruments. The application helps designers of RF systems to easily evaluate the radio at an early stage in the design process. It is especially useful for generation of configuration register values and commands, and for practical testing and debugging of the RF system. SmartRF Studio can be used either as a standalone application or together with applicable evaluation boards or debug probes for the RF device.

Sensor Controller Studio is used to write, test and debug code for the CC26xx/CC13xx Sensor Controller, allowing for ultra-low power application design.

The tool generates a Sensor Controller Interface driver, which is a set of C source files to be compiled into the System CPU (ARM Cortex-M3/M4) application. These source files contain the Sensor Controller firmware image and associated definitions, and generic functions that allow the System CPU application to control the Sensor Controller and exchange data.

The Sensor Controller is a small CPU core that is highly optimized for low power consumption and efficient peripheral operation. The Sensor Controller is located in the CC26xx/CC13xx auxiliary (AUX) power/clock domain, and can perform simple background tasks autonomously and independently of the System CPU and the MCU domain power state. Such tasks include but are not limited to:

The Sensor Controller is user programmable, using a simple programming language with syntax similar to C. This allows for sensor polling and other tasks to be specified as sequential algorithms, rather than static configuration of complex peripheral modules, timers, DMA, register programmable state machines, event routing and so on. The SimpleLink™ Low Power F2 Software Development Kit (SDK), formerly known as the CC13xx and CC26xx SDK, delivers components that enable engineers to develop applications on the Texas Instruments SimpleLink CC13xx and CC26xx family of wireless microcontrollers (MCUs). This software toolkit provides a cohesive and consistent software experience for all SimpleLink CC13xx and CC26xx wireless MCU users by packaging essential software components, such as a Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) protocol stack supporting Bluetooth 5.2, Zigbee 3.0 compliant protocol suite, RF-Proprietary examples, TI's 15.4 Stack, TI Wi-SUN FAN Stack, Amazon Sidewalk examples, as well as the TI-RTOS7 kernel and TI Drivers in one easy-to-use software package along with example applications and documentation. SmartRF™ Studio is a Windows application that can be used to evaluate and configure Low Power RF devices from Texas Instruments. The application helps designers of RF systems to easily evaluate the radio at an early stage in the design process. It is especially useful for generation of configuration register values and commands, and for practical testing and debugging of the RF system. SmartRF Studio can be used either as a standalone application or together with applicable evaluation boards or debug probes for the RF device.

Sensor Controller Studio is used to write, test and debug code for the CC26xx/CC13xx Sensor Controller, allowing for ultra-low power application design.

The tool generates a Sensor Controller Interface driver, which is a set of C source files to be compiled into the System CPU (ARM Cortex-M3/M4) application. These source files contain the Sensor Controller firmware image and associated definitions, and generic functions that allow the System CPU application to control the Sensor Controller and exchange data.

The Sensor Controller is a small CPU core that is highly optimized for low power consumption and efficient peripheral operation. The Sensor Controller is located in the CC26xx/CC13xx auxiliary (AUX) power/clock domain, and can perform simple background tasks autonomously and independently of the System CPU and the MCU domain power state. Such tasks include but are not limited to:

The Sensor Controller is user programmable, using a simple programming language with syntax similar to C. This allows for sensor polling and other tasks to be specified as sequential algorithms, rather than static configuration of complex peripheral modules, timers, DMA, register programmable state machines, event routing and so on.
