Time Out says

Over the last six years, All Points East has garnered a reputation for building some of the most exciting and interesting festival line-ups in the UK. Its headliners are often indie or dance-focused big-hitters, while its undercards are packed with cult heroes and rising stars you can say you saw first. As well as the ticketed weekend events, look out for All Points East In the Neighbourhood, the festival’s free midweek programme of community activities including film screenings, live sports, theatre, family fun and more.

When is All Points East 2024?

All Points East takes over London’s Victoria Park once again this August. You’ll be able to enjoy the sounds of the festival’s sweet music over the weekends of August 16-18 and 23-25.

How much are tickets?

Each show is priced differently, as are the different levels of access on offer. General admission will cost you between £74.45 and £80.60, while there are various VIP offerings that will set you back anywhere from £112.65 to £165.75. If you want to beat the crowds to a prime spot, you can nab a primary entry ticket. Really want to go but can’t afford to drop the full ticket price all at once? Payment plans are available. For more information, visit the festival’s website.

Who’s on the lineup?

If your music preferences lie in the Venn diagram of indie and electronic then this is the festival for you. The 2024 headliners include indie sleaze party-starters LCD Soundsystem and a double-hitter of the Ben Gibbard-fronted The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie. August 24 will see the return of All Points East’s collaboration with Field Day, topped by French electro maestros Justice.

Weekend one welcomed acclaimed producer, rapper and DJ Kaytranada, homegrown hip-hop hero Loyle Carner, cult star and TikTok fave Mitski.

No festival is just about the headliners, though, and All Points East’s bills for 2024 are stacked with big names and exciting acts. Field Day will take a more electronic turn with I.JORDAN, Mura Masa, Romy, Yaeji and more, and the double-header of The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie will be a day of peak indie, including support from Gossip, Phoenix, and Sleater-Kinney. Meanwhile, LCD Soundsystem will be joined by the enigmatic Jai Paul, Pixies and The Kills, among others.

Last week, audiences were lucky enough to catch Tems, Victoria Monét, Thundercat and more supporting Kaytranada, while Loyle Carner came backed up by some bona fide legends such as Nas, André 3000 and Flying Lotus. Mitski’s day at the festival was rounded out with the likes of Beabadoobee, Ethel Cain, Arlo Parks and Suki Waterhouse, offering something magic for all the sad indie girlies.

Looking for your favourite new act? The festival’s new Amex Unsigned stage could help you out. The stage will play host to a plethora of rising talent, including Bloody Civilian, LULU., Molly Payton, Attawalpa, Aru, Mehro, Harleighblu, and more.

BBC Radio 6 Music will also be returning to Victoria Park for the entirety of APE, bringing with them DJ sets and live performances. Head to their stage to catch appearances from the likes of Sherelle, Kelly Lee Owens, Lambrini Girls, Los Bitchos, Self Esteem, and more, plus your fave 6 Music presenters – from Tom Ravenscroft to Steve Lamacq.

Reviews of All Points East so far

The opening weekend of the festival received widespread acclaim. On August 16, Kaytranada opened things up with a groovy, feel-good set. As reported by the Evening Standard, 'The crowd pulsed euphorically throughout, reaching spectacular highs for 'Intimidated' and 'Be Your Girl.' Kaytranada didn’t say much, though he did confess: “I love you London, from the bottom of my heart.” A sentiment shared by everyone present as Friday night drew to a close.'

Loyle Carner used his night as the chance to reveal he has a new daughter and declares the gig as, 'the best night of my life'. NME reported, 'On this occasion, Carner tweaked the lyrics, this time rapping: 'Because now I have a son and a daughter'. The news that his new daughter now makes him a father of two was picked up on by the crowd, who cheered the good news.'

As for Mitski, we chatted to fans on the ground ahead of the event, which was praised as a 'Mesmerising performance art from one of the greatest songwriters of her generation' by The Telegraph.

What’s happening at In The Neighbourhood?

Each year during its takeover of Victoria Park, All Points East hosts a series of weekday events that are free to take part in. The week is dubbed In The Neighbourhood and it usually hosts everything from arts, sports, film screening, theatre and – in case you haven’t had your fill –more music. In The Neighbourhood 2024 will take place between August 19 and 22, and the programme for it will be announced closer to the time.

Weather

For the second weekend (LCD Soundsystem on August 23, Field Day on August 24 and Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service on August 25), the weather is looking ok! Expect few drizzles on the Saturday, with temperatures between 18-22C. Maybe bring the Gore-Tex to be safe!
