You are absolutely working for those six months, though, enough that you pretty much need the other six to recover. Fishing and lobstering are brutal, dirty, and dangerous.

The worst part is that your pay depends on a) your catch and b) the market. Meaning, you might come back with empty holds (and empty pockets), or you might come back with full holds and still not make shit. 😑
