Sylvan Lake State Park in Eagle.
Sylvan Lake offers year-round recreation secluded in the heart of the Rockies. It’s a gem of a state park, offering everything from camping, cabins, and yurt rentals, to wakeless boating and a lakeside hiking trail.
The park is located nearly 3o minutes south of I-70 and downtown Eagle. The White River National Forest surrounds the park, offering even more to do and see.

Biking: Allowed on a dirt path around the lake. The nearby White River National Forest and BLM lands offer additional bike trails.
Boating: The 42-acre lake is open to wakeless boating including non-motorized boats and ones with electric trolling motors. Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats are available for rent from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Camping: There are 46 sites open year-round suitable for tents & RVs. The price depends on the season and a group campground is available for up to 60 people.
Additionally, there are 8 cabins as well as 1 large lakeside cabin that are also open year-round. Furthermore, there are 3 yurts situated about 9.5 miles from the lake in a beautiful aspen forest, open from mid-May to mid-November. Reservations can be made online.

Fishing: Stocked with trout several times each year, fishing is permitted in the lake and along East and West Brush Creek near the lake.
Geocaching: There are several caches located in the park and a few more in the surrounding forest.
Hiking: 1.5 mile Lake Trail, as well as numerous other trails around the park and surrounding national forest.
Hunting: Permitted in many areas of the park and surrounding national forests during legal seasons.
OHV Riding: Off-highway vehicles may be ridden on park roads to access trails in the surrounding national forest.
Picnicking: There are 2 picnic areas with a total of 23 sites with tables and grills.
Swimming: Not permitted.
Winter Recreation: Cross-country skiing, ice fishing, ice skating, sledding, and snowshoeing are popular. Snowmobiling is permitted on park roads to access the national forest trails. Winter camping is permitted and the cabins can be reserved year-round.
The visitor center is located a mile or so from the lake.
