UNESCO launches new initiatives for creativity

Creativity not only supports cultural diversity – it is also a powerful driver of sustainable development. This is especially true in Africa, where a burgeoning publishing sector could generate $18.5 billion annually, according to a new UNESCO report. To bolster Africa’s creative economy, UNESCO is launching initiatives for the 20th anniversary of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
