Sept. 25 (UPI) -- The DC Lottery said about 232 winning tickets were sold for a DC 4 drawing that came up with the winning numbers 8-8-8-8.
Lottery officials said the 11:30 p.m. drawing Sunday resulted in the unusual winning number combination, which proved to be a popular choice for players.
The drawing has a top prize of 5,000,withadditionalprizesrangingfrom5,000, with additional prizes ranging from 5,000,withadditionalprizesrangingfrom100 to $2,500.
Officials said players won a combined total of about $1,070,250 in the drawing.
