Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson hinted that personnel changes could be on the horizon, and was noncommittal when asked about quarterback Trevor Lawrence's future after a blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Pederson teased the moves at his postgame news conference Monday in Orchard Park, N.Y. The 47-10 setback dropped the Jaguars to 0-3 this season.
"I don't necessarily think you go in an opposite direction," Pederson said. "You've invested a lot of time, but there has to be changes, whether it's play design, personnel, everything is on the table.
"Those are things I have to look at, we have to look at as a staff, and make adjustments."
The Bills edged the Jaguars 388 to 239 in total yards, 25-19 in first downs and held a 3:20 advantage in time of possession in Monday's victory. They also registered five sacks, including four of Lawrence.
Lawrence completed 21 of 38 passes (55.3%) for 178 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Backup quarterback Mac Jones entered the game to relieve Lawrence with 7:45 remaining.
"We have to take a look at injury," Pederson said, when asked about the possible personnel changes. "We had some guys injured ... could be moves that way. It could be performance.
"All things we have to evaluate as we move forward."
The Jaguars have scored the third-fewest points and totaled the sixth-fewest yards on offense so far this season. They allowed the seventh-most points and totaled the sixth-fewest passing yards through three weeks. They have the leargue's No. 16 rushing attack.
Linebacker Foyesade Oluokun (foot), cornerback Jarrian Jones (shoulder), offensive tackle Anton Harrison (knee) and wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder) were among the Jaguars players hurt in Monday's loss.
Lawrence, who completed a career-low 52.8% of his throws for 560 yards, two scores and an interception through three weeks, told reporters that he hasn't been consistent enough in 2024.
"The quarterback has to play well every week to give yourself a shot to win, and I don't feel like I've done that consistently enough," Lawrence said. "So I put that on myself, and I've got to play better."
Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, is now 20-33 as a starter.
"I thought we had a good week of practice and preparation, but at some point you've gotta go do it and win the game," Lawrence said. "We haven't been able to do that yet. ... Obviously, watching the tape is going to help. We've got to fix the mistakes that are showing up. There are plenty of them to pass around to everybody.
"We are the ones that have to make the corrections. At the end of the day, when we step on that field, we've gotta make the plays. I think that's what we are lacking right now. We're just not making the plays. We're in positions to do it and not doing it."
The Jaguars will play the Houston Texans (2-1) at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Houston.
