Katie Couric is an award-winning TV host and news anchor. In 1979, she worked for the ABC News bureau in Washington, D.C before joining NBC’s Today a decade later. In 2006, Couric became the first female to anchor a primetime broadcast on CBS Evening News. She was awarded the Emmy Governors Award in 2009 for her broadcasting career. Couric was a correspondent on 60 Minutes from 2006 to 2011 before launching her own talk show in 2012 called Katie. She also joined Yahoo! News from 2014 to 2017 as the Global Anchor and made cameo appearances on General Hospital, Will & Grace and Pawn Stars.
Couric’s first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer at the age of 42 in 1998. They tied the knot in 1989 and welcomed daughters Ellie and Carrie in 1991 and 1996, respectively. Couric married John Molner in 2014.
