As one of the loud and opinionated stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim Zolciak helped start the trend of Housewive songstresses when she released the dance record “Tardy for the Party.”
Born May 19, 1978, Zolciak is most well-known for wearing a wig and dating a married man who she dubbed “Big Poppa” on the hit Bravo reality show. Throughout the course of seasons 1 and 2, Zolciak was involved in a number of spats with frenemies and costars NeNe Leakes and Sheree Whitfield. In the first season of the show she tried her hand as a country singer, but later asked for help from castmate and former Xscape singer Kandi Burruss to rework “Tardy for the Party” into a dance song. The single reached No. 20 on the iTunes Top 200.
The Bravo star has two daughters, Brielle and Ariana, from a previous relationship, and sons Kash and KJ and twins Kaia and Kane with her professional football player husband Kroy Biermann, who she married in 2011. The wedding was documented on her RHOA spin-off show Don’t Be Tardy to the Wedding. Zolciak appeared on her own show, Don’t Be Tardy, for eight seasons from 2012 to 2020.
She filed for divorce from Biermann in May 2023 after 11 years of marriage.
