COMPLACENT
While they were all amazed at his every deed, Jesus said to his disciples, “Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.” But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

In the midst of success in our spiritual life, we have to pay attention to the efforts of the wily devil to bring us down. Christians have to be on their toes all the time because it is when we have become COMPLACENT that we become vulnerable to the devil.
Will this make our life stressful and tiresome? Yes, but only if we rely on ourselves alone. We have to remember that Jesus sent us his Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us. He is Immanuel: “God is with us” (Isaiah 7: 14)
Be with us Lord, every moment of our lives!
