Avalanche poised to announce its first multiplayer game for PSN and XBLA (original) (raw)

Just Cause developer Avalanche has said it is working on its multiplayer game set for release on PSN and XBLA.

Avalanche plans to announce the title, finally, sometime in the coming week, reports CVG, along with its publishing partner.

The game was built using tech from the other full-release projects the team is working on.

"We'll probably show the game at E3," said the firm's founder Christofer Sundberg. "It's original IP and a pretty cool little game. It's our first multiplayer title.

"There's so much work going into the tech and game design of our bigger, more risky projects, we thought that we could use that on XBLA and PSN; that we could use the same tech and experience to create something that costs about as much as one milestone payment for the bigger projects. We've built high production values on this title. It looks absolutely stunning.

"It's been such a success internally, PSN and XBLA is now seen as a very tempting world to go further into."

Sundberg told Eurogamer back in January that Avalanche has two other projects in the works, but are not ready for an announcement just yet.

It’s thought the studio is also working on a Mad Max game to tie-in with Mad Max 4: Fury Road next year, with God of War II’s Cory Barlog working on the game.
