It’s been over 130 days since writers grabbed their signs and hit the picket lines. As we glide into film festival season, writers and actors are showing their support for the strike in different ways. The latest cast to reunite on the picket line was that most noughties of duos, Harold and Kumar (John Cho and Kal Penn).

Back in July, the actors are up for the role of a lifetime: Newsies. The SAG-AFTRA contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers expired at 3 a.m. on July 13 after the union was unable to reach a deal with studios. As the Screen Actors Guild national board voted to begin striking at midnight on July 14, celebrities including the cast of the Barbie movie’s tethered, Oppenheimer, prepared to walk from all duties. Others, like Alan Ruck, Janelle James, Diego Luna, and Melanie Lynskey, used their Emmy nominations as an opportunity to prioritize solidarity with the union. And of course, Jane Fonda got in on the picketing (but you probably could have guessed that). Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reportedly donated a historic amount to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, approximately seven figures according to Variety. On July 25, Danai Gurira, Steve Buscemi, Christine Baranski, Bryan Cranston, and other actors spoke at a “Rock the Rally for a Fair Contract” event in Times Square. Below, more celebrities who are ready to stop acting and take action.

This is a developing story.
