Alex Jones says ‘it’s been a bit of a process’ in ‘scary’ life update (original) (raw)

The One Show’s Alex Jones has opened up on her “scary” house move. Earlier this year the presenter, 46, her husband Charlie Thomson and their three children left their west London house of 14 years for a more rural setting.

Since then Alex has regularly been sharing updates from the move and now the TV star has opened up about it in more detail in a new video on Instagram. The caption read: "New home, new chapter and we LOVE it. It was scary leaving the place that we’d been so happy for so many years but the outdoor life is definitely a hit, especially with the children."

“Eventually in the new house,” she began. “It's been a bit of a process. The move was smooth actually. I love the house move. I'm a bit weird like that and I really enjoyed it.

“The moving company were great and honestly it has changed our lives for the better in every way. I was really nervous about leaving west London but actually, best thing we ever did. We haven't looked back. The children love being outdoors. It's close enough to London but not too far. It's just lovely.”

Upon sharing the video several people flocked to the comments to congratulate Ammanford-born Alex on her move. One person said: “Happy new home love to see all of it eventually and hopefully plenty of colour in the rooms x.” Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “Love your taste”.

Alex has previously explained that the reason she and Charlie left west London was because they “wanted the children to have space to play outside and to grow up in nature". Announcing that they’d be moving home, she said: “It took nearly four years of searching to find the 'one’. Somewhere where the children could appreciate nature but yet be close enough to London for me to get to work and we have. It feels like she was waiting for us to find her. We feel very lucky."

Shortly after Alex’s house move, her The One Show co-host Jermaine Jenas was axed over allegations about his behaviour. Alex recently spoke out about her future on The One Show, saying she has “no intention of leaving” after having been on the sofa for 14 years. Speaking on her role on the BBC show on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, Alex said: "I can't believe I'm still here. I just go in, do the job and hope no-one notices I'm still there. I just love it.”

Having been working on the show since 2010, Alex revealed she gets asked what she wants to do next, but she’s not thinking about that. "People ask a lot: 'What do you want to do next? Don't you want to do a big entertainment show?' I'm like: 'What do you mean? I'm really happy',” she said as she admitted for her, "longevity is key".
