Chris McCausland's hilarious reaction when Jamie Borthwick makes saucy slip up (original) (raw)

Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland had the whole show in stitches after fellow star Jamie Borthwick made a slip of the tongue on Sunday evening. The awkward moment came during the results show for the Movie Week extravaganza.

The chaos started when host Claudia Winkleman said Eastenders actor Jamie can do impressions of each of the judges, hinting that she wanted him to give it a go.

Claudia said: "A brilliant reaction Jamie, were you surprised?" To which the 30-year-old replied: "We are so thankful to be through, we thank everyone for voting." For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter

Claudia went on to say: "You have got an impression of all the judges for us, which honestly is a gift." Psyching himself up, Jamie glanced towards his professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas and told the audience: "We had a delirious night the other night and we were laying there... "

At this point Jamie appeared uncomfortable and shocked at what he just said, while Claudia exclaimed: "What?. A very bashful Jamie corrected himself and said: "[Laying] on the rehearsal floor... on the rehearsal floor!" As the audience and Strictly stars laughed at the unfortunate slip up, comedian Chris McCausland added to the drama by mimicking Eastenders' iconic theme tune: "Duff, duff duff..." - leaving everyone in stitches.

With a wicked look on her face, Claudia chimed in: "Okay then, a delirious night snuggled up. Continue..." Taking it on the chin, Jamie leaned into the joke before he broke into his impressions.

The exchange came after speculation from fans that Jamie and Michelle have chemistry. However, the actor previously dispelled any chance of romance as he revealed that Michelle "mothers" him.

He told The Mirror: "The idea of that whole Strictly curse, well it's definitely not going to be a thing here because it would be weird doing that with my sister. Michelle and I met before Strictly and we instantly had a connection. But she is like a sister, an aunt, a mum, a best friend. She's looking after me, she's mothering me."

Speaking about Michelle's real-life partner Simone Arena, he explained: "Her boyfriend doesn't know it yet because we've never met, but he's my rock already. I've been looking him up, watching him dance on his shows and I'm like, 'Mate, you're my icon'. He's an absolutely fantastic dancer."
