Strictly's Nikita holds head in hands as Claudia Winkleman calls out blunder (original) (raw)

Strictly Come Dancing's Sunday results show took an unexpected turn when host Claudia Winkleman had to correct a musical mistake. Chatting with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin and his celebrity partner Sam Quek, Claudia excitedly mentioned, "You've got a great song next week! " Nikita then burst into song, mashing up Shakira's hits Hips Don't Lie and Whenever, Wherever.

The moment turned comical as Claudia had to step in, saying, "Nikita, I love you so much but it was the other Shakira song..." leaving Nikita visibly embarrassed, covering his face while their fellow stars laughed. Attempting to sing the correct tune only caused more chuckles, prompting Claudia to lovingly interject with, "I love you..." and the others jokingly apologising to Shakira with, "Shakira, I'm sorry."

Claudia wrapped up the amusing incident with a light-hearted comment, "It's okay, she's super busy, that'll do! "

Saturday's themed-episode opener saw the professional dancers take on animated personas, turning into Minions from the Despicable Me franchise. Kai Widdrington embodied Gru, the film's reformed supervillain, whereas his fellow dancers slipped into yellow to play the adorable minions.

The stars and their dance partners dazzled with cinematic routines donning spectacular outfits, but it was tinged with sadness as Sunday's episode would mark the departure of the second celebrity contestant of the series.

Nick Knowles of DIY SOS fame and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk were set to light up the dance floor with a Charleston to 'Rain On The Roof' from Paddington 2, but an injury forced Nick to step down on Friday.

The series had previously bid farewell to Olympian Tom Dean and his partner Nadiya Bychkova, who were the first couple eliminated from the competition.
