Police issue artist impression of man who has been missing for 16 months (original) (raw)

Police have issued an artist's impression in search for a man who has been missing for 16 months. They say the image above could represent how Shane Barnett looks now.

The 49-year-old was last seen 16 months ago leaving the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Since then his family have been looking for him every day and have issued a number of emotional appeals in the hope someone might have information about his whereabouts.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out to locate Shane but there have been no confirmed sightings since he was seen on Allensbank Road, close to the hospital, at around 12.30pm on the day he went missing.

Earlier this year, his sister appealed for help to try and find him. Distraught Nicola Casey says police have told the family that he may no longer be alive, but she refuses to believe it until he's found. She says: "I have spent hours daily searching every inch of Cardiff since he went missing. I've put posters up, I've posted his picture on any Cardiff social media pages I could find. I've had many people message me with possible sightings which I'm so grateful for, I've gone there to check and unfortunately it hasn't been him but I won't stop checking."

Anyone who may have seen Shane, or who has information which will help us find him, is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting occurrence number 2300147308.
