Gareth Bale to open new bar above mini-golf venue in Cardiff city centre (original) (raw)

Popular golf-themed bar Par 59 has announced an expansion to their venue in Cardiff. The St Mary Street bar, backed by Welsh football icon Gareth Bale, is set to double in capacity as they open a new upstairs bar and games room named 'Shuffles'.

Par 59, established by Bale's Elevens Group LTD and The DEPOT in 2022, opened its doors in Cardiff at their location in the heart of the city centre in March last year. Since opening it has become a popular place where you can eat, drink and play mini golf all in one place.

The venue currently has two custom-designed nine-hole mini golf courses as well as causal dining and a bar serving drinks. With the new expansion, people will be able to join in even more fun with three brand-new interactive shuffleboards and five interactive dart boards, along with a second bar area featuring cosy booth seating. The exciting new area will be open to the public from Friday, November 10, in time for the festive season. Visitors will be able to enjoy the new games as well as drinks and street food from the in-house traders Dirty Birdie.

Gareth Bale said: "We're really looking forward to welcoming people to this new addition to our venue - where competition meets innovation in a one-of-a-kind setting. See you on the shuffleboard!"

Nick Saunders, founder and Managing Director of The DEPOT and co-founder of Par 59, said: "With the addition of our new interactive dart boards, Par 59 is going to be the place to be for an unforgettable blend of competition, camaraderie, and fun."

"Our 'supercharged shuffle boards' are the first of their kind in Wales, combining the skill of classic shuffleboard with the thrill of a video game, offering engaging game modes tracked real-time on digital screens, giving a tech-twist to the classic shuffleboard experience."

The expansion will increase the venue's capacity from 250 to 500 across 22,000 sq ft. Bookings are open now for the expansion and patrons can inquire about Christmas party availability by visiting here.
