Save £90 on Denon soundbar which can get so loud ‘neighbours complain’ (original) (raw)

Audiophiles looking to upgrade their home cinema set-up could be in luck. Today, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, is the final day of Amazon's Big Deals Day, and it includes an incredible deal from Denon.

The online retailer has slashed almost £90 (£89.95) off of the tech giant's DHT-S316 Soundbar and wireless subwoofer. This surround sound package boasts a collection of wonderful features, including HDMI ARC, wall mountable ability, music streaming, dialogue enhancer, and much more for just £189.05.

The Bluetooth functionality also allows users to connect their phones or smart devices to it and stream their favourite music. On top of that, this wireless use means set-up is easier than ever, as well.

The Denon DHT-S316 Soundbar and Wireless Subwoofer was originally priced at £279, but has now been discounted until the end of the day. As a result, music fans should jump on this deal now while they can.

But don't take my word for it; the Denon soundbar has almost 1,000 five-star ratings. Amazon customer John commented: "This is great quality and perfect for your TV and DVDs and your music it's a must to have, very good value and easy to install."

David added: "Having owned / bought a number of soundbars, I can honestly say without doubt this is one of the best for the price range. If I'd known Denon did them, I would have bought it sooner. Denon are / were heavily DJ / club / sound based, whilst not top level, they did & do b****y well. The sound is perfect, hi, mids & bass with this system is great. Toned just enough for films to have the low bass & hi's that push through when you want and then then swap to Spotify or Youtube & turn it up - sounds great, & loud when you want it (my neighbours complained!). Live / Glastonbury sets at home never sounded better! Watching a film at a good volume gives full, wholesome movie film punches & whilst at low volume still delivers bass & sounds great."

Call went on: "I read lots of reviews before buying this and only gave 4 stars as there are some minor issues but overall it's value for money. Like the reviews say the remote is terrible and with no visual volume indicator makes it difficult to get the bass sound right. The bass does seem a little underpowered. When paying £200 you don't expect the world but a better remote would have pushed it to 5*."

Further reviews had some complaints about the package, however. With R Mach claiming: "The subwoofer has stopped working after nine months, trying to get it repaired or changed under warranty, will update."

Another went on: "Arrived with me today and the packaging/box were in very poor condition. Upon opening its clear this item must have been sold/used previously. Very poorly wrapped and there are chips on two corners of the subwoofer. The cables and remote were just loose in the box with no packaging and the remote even had batteries left in it!!! Not impressed at all!"

Bob wrote: "Connected to my Samsung TV. Listening to speech, especially from southern usa actors, is just not understandable. I invested in Denon as it has so a good reputation. The remote does nothing except for volume control and we have stopped using the bass speaker as it just gets muffled. Very disappointed. Could recommend this to anyone."

If these reviews have put you off of purchasing the Denon soundbar from Amazon, you have plenty of other options available. That includes this Samsung HW-C400/XU 2.0 from Currys now.

While this piece of technology is highly rated, it is not discounted. However, it is priced very reasonably at just £129.
