'Perfect Christmas gift' Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts set slashed by 20% (original) (raw)

Over the last few years, Lego has proven a hit with adults as well as children, thanks to its wildly popular 18+ sets. And if you're looking for the perfect Christmas present for a Lego-obsessed person in your life, the Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle and Grounds is currently £119.99 down from £149.99 this Prime Day.

With 2,660 pieces, this fantastic Lego rendition of the Hogwarts castle features the great hall, astronomy tower and main tower, while its grounds are made up of the castle’s lake, greenhouses, and space for the Whomping Willow.

The detailed set also features various elements of the castle’s interior, including the Chamber of Secrets, the potions classroom, and even a spot for some wizard’s chess. On the lake you’ll find the Durmstrang ship, a flying carriage sits high above the castle, and there’s a golden figurine depicting Hogwarts’s architect included too - basically everything a Harry Potter fan might want.

It’s not the only Legp Harry Potter set on offer this Prime Day, with the Sorting Hat available for £65.99 (reduced from £89.99). Another 18+ set, the Sorting Hat is made up of 561 pieces, 31 sound effects, and a mini figure of Harry wearing the talkative hat.

After more than 1,500 reviews, the Hogwarts set currently has an impressive average user rating of 4.8/5. “Imaginative and intricate, this set catered perfectly to my inner wizard... It’s brought a slice of Hogwarts magic into our home with stunning detail, and it’s a fantastic addition to the bookshelf. For any Harry Potter enthusiast, this blend of logic and lore is well worth the galleons,” said one customer. Another added: “I was engaged and never bored throughout the process. The finished set looks stunning on my shelf.”

Yet another five-star review noted: “The Lego 76419 Harry Potter set is a real treat for fans. It's a cool, scaled-down Hogwarts that doesn't skimp on the details, even with its 2,660 pieces. For the price, you're getting a solid build that captures the magic of the place. All in all, it's a great piece for display and a fun build that's worth every penny. Happy building!”

Some less-positive reviews have flagged missing pieces from their sets: “Lovely looking set, but when you spend this kind of money on a set, you expect to get all the pieces,” said one, while another agreed: “Bought this for my husband’s Christmas and there are a few pieces missing or wrong sizing.” It’s worth noting that, if you happen to be missing any pieces, Lego’s customer support will be able to assist and send over the ones you need at no charge.

Harry Potter isn't the only fantasy land Lego has made waves in. If you're more of a Star Wars fan, you can pick up the Imperial Star Destroyer set for £149.99, or, if you’re really looking to push the boat out, you might consider the Lord of the Rings Rivendell set for £429.99.
