Fungi are spore producing eukaryotic. Fungus lack chlorophyll and used to be considered a plant, but not anymore. Fungi are now considered a separate kingdom distinct from both plants and animals. Examples of fungi include mushrooms, mold, mildew, and yeast. Fungi, unlike bacteria, can grow in low moisture and low pH environments. Like animals, humans and most bacteria all fungi are considered heterotrophs, which means they get their energy by eating organic substances.

A microbe is a microscopic organism that can be multicellular or single celled organisms. Microbes include bacteria, protozoa, fungi and algae. Microbes can be either beneficial or harmful to plants. Microorganisms are sometimes good and very useful. You could not make bread without microorganisms added to the dough to allow the bread to ferment and rise.
