Cate Cadell is a national security reporter for the Washington Post, where she covers the U.S.-China relationship. She joined The Post in 2021 after almost eight years based in Beijing, including five years covering technology and politics with Reuters News. During her time with Reuters, she covered the rise of China's tech industry, the Xinjiang region, the U.S.-China trade war and the coronavirus outbreak.
