Maham Javaid is a general assignment reporter who joined The Washington Post in 2022. She came to The Post from the New York Times, where she spent part of 2022 covering the war in Ukraine and other news for the Live desk. Javaid, a 2022 International Women's Media Foundation Elizabeth Neuffer Fellow, wrote opinions and editorials for the Boston Globe as part of her fellowship. Javaid grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, and moved to Washington, D.C., after spending many years in New York.
