Jubilee Gardens - West 8 (original) (raw)

Slightly elevated from street level, the gently sloping topography of the revitalized Jubilee Gardens creates a destination on the River Thames and a truly spectacular view of London.

Elegant, yet contemporary, the meticulous development of Jubilee Gardens lasted 14 years to ensure the park had the timelessness needed for a new landmark on the Thames.

From a thoroughfare for busy commuters to a multifunctional and celebrated place: Inviting Londoners to gather, perform, and discover the Southbank.

The swirling paths meander through 94 quintessential English park trees, including English Oaks, Common Beech and Lime Trees.

The Jubilee Gardens were first built in 1977 to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II., but they were irretrievably damaged during the construction of the Jubilee line. The revitalized gardens were completed in time both for Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the London Olympic Games in 2012.
