Xinhua Waterfront Park - West 8 (original) (raw)

The flood wall transformed into an iconic element that provides shade underneath and views across the river, while providing a smooth connection to the waterfront.

The multi-layered park takes advantage of the existing flood wall to create different programs while allowing for the possibility of inundation.

The plan combines landscape design and urban design; deeply embedding the waterfront into the urban tissue by creating green links and nodes to the city.

Accessible and functional spaces

Recreation routes for jogging, cycling and walking were integrated with formal and natural play areas to create a vibrant and activated waterfront for all ages.
