Welcome to Westbury Town Council

Working for a better Westbury

A former Victorian mill town, Westbury in Wiltshire has a more interesting and significant history than you might imagine. Situated on the western edge of Wiltshire, its most famous landmark is the impressive Westbury White Horse carved into the chalk which is visible for miles around.

Positive Conduct Certificate

Many of the town’s oldest buildings can be seen in the conservation area around the Market Place – a charming old square which leads through to the churchyard with the 14th century Grade 1 listed All Saints Church and then on to Church Street to find one of the oldest operational swimming baths in the country.

Westbury is exceptionally well-positioned for all UK major road and railway connections with the mainline railway station offering links to London, Wales and the whole of the South West of England.

The variety of surrounding countryside makes Westbury a delight for both the walker and cyclist and with places to shop, eat and visit, Westbury has a certain charm that makes it attractive to residents and visitors alike.

Westbury is bounded by Gloucestershire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Dorset and Somerset.
