Biography

Brian was a Rugby Player for the All Blacks.

Sir Brian James Lochore ONZ KNZM OBE was a New Zealand rugby union player and coach who represented and captained the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks. He played at number 8 and lock, as well as captaining the side 46 times. In 1999, Lochore was inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame.[1]

Wairarapa born and bred, Brian James (BJ) Lochore won distinction as a player and administrator at school, club, provincial and national level.

Sir Brian's parents were Alma Joyce Wyeth and James Denniston Lochore.

He married Pam Young, and they had three children: David, Joanne and Sandra.[2]

He passed way on August 3, 2019. He is buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Masterton, Masterton District, Wellington, New Zealand.[3]
