Rankings FAQ - World Women's Snooker (original) (raw)
The WWS world rankings have existed since 1983 and provide a basis upon which players are ordered based on their tournament results during a two-year period. These rankings are used to determine seedings for upcoming tournaments and since 2021, qualification to the professional World Snooker Tour.

Alongside the main ranking list, there are also separate ranking lists for our Under-21 and Seniors side-competitions. These ranking lists are based solely on results in those tournaments and not main ranking tournaments.
System
Like the professional circuit, the WWS world rankings operate on a rolling two-year basis, with players earning ranking points at each tournament played which carries ranking status. After two years (or as defined within the current re-ranking points document), these points are removed, and replaced by points from current tournaments.
For example, at the start of the 2024/25 season, player rankings were made up of results from the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. Following the first event of the 2024/25 season, points earned at the corresponding event (chronologically) of the 2022/23 season were removed.
Since the start of the 2023/24 season, the ranking of each player is calculated from their ‘best 14’ results during the current two-year counting period. For more information please click HERE.
One-Year Rankings
The WWS one-year rankings include points earned during the current season only. This list is for illustrative purposes and will be taken into account for qualification for planned future invitational events.
