Thomas Bergman
Remarks from the Recordist
SNR: 54 dB(ISO/ITU)
Recorded:
- distance call, gorrrack
General observations: Muddy shore of a shallow sea bay. Wet pastures in the sorroundings. Six canada geese fly by while calling, generating an echo at the latter part of the recording (the sound bounces against a mountainside on an island). Clear skies. Temperature: 6°C/42.8°F. No wind.
Recording remarks: According to NatureGuides (2020) the flight call is harder and higher pitched than the contact call of e.g. a feeding flock, compare e.g. with XC598177.
Other distinguishable species:
- Mute Swan, Cygnus olor, gull-like call, ga-oh, at e.g. 0:07.2 (vaguely)
Sound classification and rendering: NatureGuides, 2020, Birds of Western Palearctic, AppStore
Recording equipment: Dodotronic Hi-sound Stereo AOL Parabolic Microphone, Sony PCM-A10 Recorder
