Why I Love This Recipe
- Versatile – Serve on burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more.
- Easy to Mix Up – Just mix in a bowl and enjoy!
- McDonald’s Copycat – The fast food favorite burger sauce is easy to make at home!
Ingredients
All simple ingredients and you likely have most on hand already!
- Mayonnaise – This is the main base of the sauce. I like to use regular, full-fat mayo, but you can swap in light mayo as well.
- Ketchup – This gives the classic Big Mac Sauce color and, of course, Ketchup is a classic burger topping!
- Yellow Mustard
- Grated Yellow Onion – Finely minced onion can be used, but biting into the bits of raw onion in the sauce will taste very pungent.
- Sweet Pickle Relish – If you don’t have sweet relish, you can finely mince bread and butter pickles.
- White Sugar – Just a small amount of sugar adds the right amount of sweetness.
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Paprika – Paprika adds a sweet yet earthy taste and great color!
How To Make This Big Mac Sauce Recipe

- Mix up Sauce – All you need to do is add all ingredients to a small bowl then whisk up until combined.
- Chill or Serve – While the sauce can be used immediately, I prefer to chill in the fridge for an hour so the flavors can meld. Serve on top of burgers, or on your favorite salad.

Expert Tips
- Grated onion – Grate the onion over a small bowl using a fine grater. Put all of the juice and grated onion in the sauce.
- Chill for at least an hour – While you can use immediately, the flavor is best after chilling for a bit.
- Double it! This recipe doubles well and keeps well in the fridge for about a week.
