The development of internal roads is one of the most important factors to stimulate and establish... more The development of internal roads is one of the most important factors to stimulate and establish the domestic tourism movement in Egypt in light of the technological development and the tremendous development in the internal road networks during the past few years, which contributes to stimulating the domestic tourism movement in an integrated manner and increasing the activation campaigns to further promote domestic tourism.
From this standpoint, the importance of research appears in shedding light on the role of domestic tourism as an important source of increasing national income. And the importance of linking tourist attractions maps with the national road network.
Research problem: The research problem is summarized in the failure to connect the national road networks to the tourist attraction map, as it is an obstacle to the internal tourism movement, that has a negative impact on the national income from the tourism sector.
Research importance: The importance of the research lies in the urgent need today to stimulate and encourage domestic tourism to contribute to a greater increase in the national income and linking it to the national road network projects.
Research objectives: The research aims mainly to try to find a proposal for developing a map that shows internal tourism areas by linking the national road network to the tourist map and highlighting the importance of domestic tourism and its role in maximizing and increasing national income.
Research methodology: The research methodology includes:
- Theoretical part: It includes some important concepts about tourism, its types, the importance and role of domestic tourism, and ways to develop it, as well as the theoretical part includes the national road network and its importance as an axis for sustainable urban development in general and for the development and revitalization of domestic tourism in particular.
- Analytical part: The research shows a comparative analytical study of the national road network during the past years, its current development, and how to link it to the tourist map in an attempt to establish a development proposal for the current tourist attractions map as a way to increase the national income in Egypt.
The research concludes with a set of findings and recommendations that contribute to promoting and revitalizing domestic tourism in Egypt and maximizing the national income of the state.
تعتبر مصر واحدة من أهم الدول التي تحتوي على العديد من المباني التراثية ذات القيمة، وللأسف فإن معظ... more تعتبر مصر واحدة من أهم الدول التي تحتوي على العديد من المباني التراثية ذات القيمة، وللأسف فإن معظم تلك المباني تعاني من الإهمال والتدهور ونقص في عمليات الصيانة أو الترميم مما يؤثر علي عمليات استثمارها بشكل أفضل، ونتيجة لذلك التدهور الذي أثر علي الحالة المعمارية لمعظم تلك المباني فقدت هذه المباني أهميتها الثقافية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية بمرور الوقت، وهو ما تطرحه الورقة البحثية في أهمية عمليات إحياء المباني التراثية كمدخل لعمليات استثمارها وإيجاد حلول لاستعادة المباني ذات القيمة التاريخية وإعادة استخدامها بشكل مناسب وظيفيا في إطار من تطبيق لمبادئ ومفاهيم العمارة الخضراء تحقيقا لوجود مباني ومناطق تراثية خضراء ومستدامة.

The growth of population in Egypt had made a great shortage in the quality of house buildings, wh... more The growth of population in Egypt had made a great shortage in the quality of house buildings, which led to a search for new ways to build economically sustainable houses using recycled shipping containers. This idea is still foreign to designers and building practitioners in Egypt. Buildings methods should be developed to become more economical, sustainable. There are plenty stocks of shipping containers in Egypt's ports which can provide many solutions by recycling it as an approach to solve economic house buildings problems. This research aims to present the uses of recycled shipping containers as a temporary structure and through: Monitoring its the importance, reviewing various approaches of dealing with shipping containers in architectural design and emphasizing the importance of improving it, Studying the most suitable ways to make shipping containers sustainable, economic and more flexible in architectural design. This research proposes that using recycled shipping containers in-house buildings is more economical, sustainable and increase the quality of life for buildings users in Egypt. Conclusions will be drawn from the findings of this research on how to deal with recycled shipping containers as a way to increase the quality of life in Egypt.

Egypt is one of the riches countries with the cities of cultural value. This abundance has created the problem of Conservation that wealth and highlighting the artistic and historical aspects of the cities that face a lot of neglecting and abusing. Cities are dynamic organisms. There is no 'historic' city in the world that has retained its 'ori... more Cities are dynamic organisms. There is no 'historic' city in the world that has retained its 'original' character destined to change with society itself. Therefore, it is necessary to make various efforts to preserve historical cities' identity in sustainable ways. The city of Rosetta is considered one of the most important historical cities, which is classified as the second-largest Egyptian city containing Islamic monuments after historic Cairo. Rosetta is best known for the Rosetta stone, which was discovered in the Qayitbay castle in 1799 and suffered from many problems related to heritage conservation and management. The research problem has focused on setting a new hypothesis regarding Rosetta as a cultural landscape and applying the criteria of universal importance to it. The reasons that influence in shaping the city's distinctive character will be discussed, which qualifies it to run for registration on the World Heritage List as a cultural landscape. This hypothesis may increase Rashid's national importance and thus increase opportunities for development and investment, which may raise the standard of the living city. The research methodology was based on two main axes: 1. Analytical approach: It includes a study on the effects of the natural and historical components of Rashid on making this city a cultural landscape area. 2. Practical analytical approach: It includes applying international standards for Rashid to be registered on the World Heritage List. The results are summarized in finding definitive evidence that Rashid is a cultural landscape area; also, some recommendations were added.
يوجد العديد من مواد البناء الخضراء والتي تعد أفضل من حيث استخدامها في عملية البناء عن الخرسانة. ... more يوجد العديد من مواد البناء الخضراء والتي تعد أفضل من حيث استخدامها في عملية البناء عن الخرسانة. تستخدم الخرسانة کمادة بناء أساسية في تشييد العديد من المنشآت مثل الکباري والمباني الإدارية والمباني السکنية ...إلخ. ينتج عن استخدام الخرسانة کمادة بناء العديد من الغازات السامة مثل غاز ثاني أکسيد الکربون والتي تضر بالبيئة کل عام مما يساهم في حدوث التغيرات المناخية. لذا يوجد حاجة ماسة للبحث عن مواد بناء جديدة لا تؤدي إلى تلوث الهواء وتکون بديلة للخرسانة ولديها أقل ما يمکن من التأثير السلبي على البيئة المحيطة.
ومن هذا المنطلق وطبقاً لبناء مباني جديدة بالصحراء يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على مواد البناء الخضراء کحل بديل لبناء منشآت صديقة للبيئة في الصحراء.
المشکلة البحثية: الضرر البالغ الواقع على البيئة المحيطة بشکل عام وفي البيئات الصحراوية بشکل خاص نتيجة التأثير السلبي للعديد من الغازات السامة مثل ثاني أکيد الکربون والتي تنبعث عند استخدام بعض مواد البناء مثل الخرسانة المسلحة.
أهمية البحث: تکمن أهمية البحث في الحاجة الماسة اليوم للبحث عن مواد بناء خضراء مستدامة والتي تعد أفضل من حيث استخدامها في عمليات البناء عن الخرسانة لا تؤدي إلى تلوث الهواء وتکون بديلة للخرسانة ولديها أقل ما يمکن من التأثير السلبي على البيئة المحيطة.
أهداف البحث: يهدف البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على استخدام مواد البناء الخضراء کحل بديل لمواد البناء التقليدية کالخرسانة للحد من آثارها السلبية على البيئة المحيطة ولبناء منشأت صديقة للبيئة الصحراوية.
منهجية البحث: تتضمن منهجية البحث:
- الجزء النظري: يشتمل على بعض المفاهيم الهامة لمواد البناء الخضراء، الإستدامة، المباني الصحراوية، مباديء ومميزات وعيوب مواد البناء الخضراء.
- الجزء التحليلي: يوضح البحث دراسة تحليلية لمواد البناء البيئية المستدامو والخضراء الصديقة للبيئة وکيف يمکن استخدامها کحلول بديلة لمثيلتها من مواد البناء التقليدية ويوضح بعض الأمثلة المحلية واالعالمية والتي تستخدم مواد بناء صديقة للبيئة ولا تضر بها للاسترشاد بها عند بناء أي منشا في الصحراء، ويخلص البحث الى نقطة هامة وإيجابية وهي أن استخدام مواد البناء الخضراء في تشييد المباني يعد طريقة يمکن تطبيقها لبناء مباني جديدة في الصحراء دون الإضرار بالبيئة المحيطة ويؤدي إلى إيجاد مدن مستدامة صديقة للبيئة في البيئات الصحراوية.الكلمات الرئيسيةمواد البناء الخضراء؛ الإستدامة؛ المبانی الصحراویة؛ المصادر الطبیعیة؛ المبانی البیئیة
Egypt is considered as one of the most important countries that contain many valuable heritage bu... more Egypt is considered as one of the most important countries that contain many valuable heritage buildings. Most of these buildings suffer from neglect, deterioration, lack of investment and maintenance. That reflected itself on the deterioration of building`s architectural situation. These buildings lost their cultural, economic, and social significance over time. This needs the intervention of research to find solutions for restoration of buildings of historical value that enable their reuse in the appropriate context. Green architecture is a widespread trend in the last two decades. Principles of green buildings have to be considered when restoring historically valuable buildings in order to achieve sustainable green heritage areas. This research aims to accomplish heritage building’s complete sustainability through the incorporation of green architecture principles into the process of restoration of historically valuable buildings. This can, of course, means meeting the needs of new generations without risking the loss of heritage buildings` value. The methodology of this research includes; first the theoretical part that includes definitions of heritage, green buildings, policies, principles, and types of restoration projects. In its analytical part, the research presents an international model of transforming a heritage building into a green building. The applied case study then presents a number of recommendations for restoration of Mansoura opera house as one of the most significant heritage buildings in the city of study while considering green and sustainability criteria.

Fast progression in developing urban planning has its influence on losing characteristic features of architectural, and urban heritage in most Arab countries. Which, left no room for having regulations for specification of these features of conservation. Academia thus can detect and treat such problem. Urban heritage rooting and its conservation is a very important need and will require fully aware architect knows the importance of heritage to Arab communities and how to sustainably conserve and invest it in a proper approach. The research mainly aims to study rooting of architectural and urban heritage in curricula of architectural Engineering education in Arab countries. Such curricula, is responsible for of graduating specialized personnel in architectural engineering and specifically, heritage. To achieve this, the research evaluates and compares heritage and, architectural curricula to get insight to future of heritage education for rooting, using and investing heritage through preparing cause-oriented architects. The research raises a very important question "is the lack in heritage and blurring its features in Arab communities related to architectural education curricula?" The research relay on extrapolation, analytical and descriptive methodology. The theoretical part includes related concepts of rooting, architecture education, and heritage. In its comparative analytical part, the research demonstrates characteristics of academic regulations and curricula of architectural engineering education in some of the Arab and international universities applying certain defined criteria to get an idea about the quality and quantity for urban and architectural heritage conservation education and how it serves society needs. Each heritage building has its own needs and requirements that should be taken in mind when renovating it. The main objective of this research is to find an outline frame of how to apply using architectural lighting art in the revitalization of heritage buildings for historical cities in Arab countries to raise the community's knowledge about the importance of heritage buildings and to increase heritage values rooting for them. The research raises an important question "is lack of interest in heritage features in Arab countries related to heritage values rooting?" to answer this question, this research relay on extrapolation, analytical and descriptive methodology. Building economic buildings are challenging due to the huge growth of population in Egypt. This research aims to provide the assessment of feasibility using shipping containers as a way to find some solutions for building economic buildings towards green architecture in Egypt through investing weather using shipping containers as a modular component in buildings construction is more economical than building using traditional methods. This comparison focuses on established planning & design goals, define and evaluate space requirements, review benchmark standards & guidelines, thermal comfort, alteration issues, and construction cost as a way to provide an overview of the performance of shipping containers buildings as an approach towards economic green buildings in Egypt. This research relay on extrapolation, analytical and descriptive methodology. The theoretical part includes related concepts of building using shipping containers as a modular unit, traditional building construction methods, and eco-friendly buildings properties. In its comparative analytical part, the research demonstrates features and characteristics of using shipping containers and traditional methods in building construction applying certain defined criteria to get an idea about quantity and quality of economic and green buildings in Egypt and how it will serve social needs. Studying the environmental compliance of the rehabilitated buildings of heritage value in terms of the efficiency of internal environment and the efficiency of environmental suitability. The conclusion drawn from this research suggests an important relationship between Heritage cities identity and sustainability behavior which is suggested for future research.

أهمية البحث: تکمن أهمية البحث في الحاجة الماسة اليوم للبحث عن مواد بناء خضراء مستدامة والتي تعد أفضل من حيث استخدامها في عمليات البناء عن الخرسانة لا تؤدي إلى تلوث الهواء وتکون بديلة للخرسانة ولديها أقل ما يمکن من التأثير السلبي على البيئة المحيطة.
أهداف البحث: يهدف البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على استخدام مواد البناء الخضراء کحل بديل لمواد البناء التقليدية کالخرسانة للحد من آثارها السلبية على البيئة المحيطة ولبناء منشأت صديقة للبيئة الصحراوية.
منهجية البحث: تتضمن منهجية البحث:
- الجزء النظري: يشتمل على بعض المفاهيم الهامة لمواد البناء الخضراء، الإستدامة، المباني الصحراوية، مباديء ومميزات وعيوب مواد البناء الخضراء.

Egypt is considered as one of the most important countries that contain many valuable heritage bu... more Egypt is considered as one of the most important countries that contain many valuable heritage buildings. Most of these buildings suffer from neglect, deterioration, lack of investment and maintenance. That reflected itself on the deterioration of building`s architectural situation. These buildings lost their cultural, economic, and social significance over time. This needs the intervention of research to find solutions for restoration of buildings of historical value that enable their reuse in the appropriate context. Green architecture is a widespread trend in the last two decades. Principles of green buildings have to be considered when restoring historically valuable buildings in order to achieve sustainable green heritage areas. This research aims to accomplish heritage building’s complete sustainability through the incorporation of green architecture principles into the process of restoration of historically valuable buildings. This can, of course, means meeting the needs of new generations without risking the loss of heritage buildings` value. The methodology of this research includes; first the theoretical part that includes definitions of heritage, green buildings, policies, principles, and types of restoration projects. In its analytical part, the research presents an international model of transforming a heritage building into a green building. The applied case study then presents a number of recommendations for restoration of Mansoura opera house as one of the most significant heritage buildings in the city of study while considering green and sustainability criteria.

Fast progression in developing urban planning has its influence on losing characteristic features of architectural, and urban heritage in most Arab countries. Which, left no room for having regulations for specification of these features of conservation. Academia thus can detect and treat such problem. Urban heritage rooting and its conservation is a very important need and will require fully aware architect knows the importance of heritage to Arab communities and how to sustainably conserve and invest it in a proper approach. The research mainly aims to study rooting of architectural and urban heritage in curricula of architectural Engineering education in Arab countries. Such curricula, is responsible for of graduating specialized personnel in architectural engineering and specifically, heritage. To achieve this, the research evaluates and compares heritage and, architectural curricula to get insight to future of heritage education for rooting, using and investing heritage through preparing cause-oriented architects. The research raises a very important question "is the lack in heritage and blurring its features in Arab communities related to architectural education curricula?" The research relay on extrapolation, analytical and descriptive methodology. The theoretical part includes related concepts of rooting, architecture education, and heritage. In its comparative analytical part, the research demonstrates characteristics of academic regulations and curricula of architectural engineering education in some of the Arab and international universities applying certain defined criteria to get an idea about the quality and quantity for urban and architectural heritage conservation education and how it serves society needs. The main objective of this research is to find an outline frame of how to apply using architectural lighting art in the revitalization of heritage buildings for historical cities in Arab countries to raise the community's knowledge about the importance of heritage buildings and to increase heritage values rooting for them. This comparison focuses on established planning & design goals, define and evaluate space requirements, review benchmark standards & guidelines, thermal comfort, alteration issues, and construction cost as a way to provide an overview of the performance of shipping containers buildings as an approach towards economic green buildings in Egypt. The conclusion drawn from this research suggests an important relationship between Heritage cities identity and sustainability behavior which is suggested for future research.
