A sample of 180 Indian female student-athletes at intercollegiate and inter-university levels with male coaches participated in this study. A questionnaire on sport-specific Touch and Behaviour versus Unwanted Intimacy from coaches (Vanden Auweele et al., 2008), consisting of 41 items on a 5-point rating scale was used. The participants were asked to indicate the acceptability of specific coaching behaviour as well as the occurrence of the behaviour represented in each item. The acceptability of the behaviour was determined by means and standard deviations, while the occurrence was determined by frequencies. Factor analysis was performed to determine the structure of the coaches’ behaviour and athletes’ acceptability thereof, which yielded four factors. Cronbach’s alpha was used to determine the internal consistency of the extracted items on each factor. Two factors, namely, unwanted sexual behaviour and inappropriate verbal and physical sexual behaviour, were regarded by athletes as very serious and unacceptable coach behaviour, while a third factor represented context-dependent suspicious behaviour (a grey area in which athletes differ in their opinion) and was perceived to be serious and unacceptable. A fourth factor represented acceptable behaviour. The occurrence of very serious and unacceptable behaviour was reported by 31% of the female athletes.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors perceived as important in the development of quality physical education (QPE) by professionals in Latin American (LA) countries. A questionnaire consisting of 24 items based on QPE was responded by 468 professionals collected from 6 LA cities. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) of the 24 items using ML extraction and direct oblimin rotation were applied, and the retained 17 items were clustered in a three factor solution referred to as, Development and Supportive Elements for QPE in School (DSFQPE) (˛ = .935), Core Value of QPEtabl (CVPE) (˛ = .890), and Curriculum Arrangement of Physical Activities (CAPA) (˛ = .850). The retained items indicated excellent properties and the basic framework as perceived by professionals from PE in LA countries as important in the investigation of QPE.

Sport and physical activities form the major content in learning and the arrangement serves as the major source of development in students. This paper identifies "quality" as an internationally concerned issue and within the concept, the perceptual framework in learning is then placed with focus. To conduct this study, a sample of N = 799 (11 Asian cities) physical education professionals working in different levels were invited to participate in a questionnaire survey with 37 items designed to forge the conceptualization of quality learning in physical education. Results from statistical analysis showed 24 items grouped in 3 subfactors being retained after EFA, of 37 items that were framed through content analysis to assess the quality physical education learning among the PE professionals. The retained three factors from the EFA were further assessed with robust confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The 3-factor model demonstrated a good fit with the data (CMIN/DF = 7.367, NFI = .888, CFI = .901, PCFI = .748, RMSEA = .089). In this sample, the QPEL demonstrated an acceptable three-factor structure, internal consistency and inter-factor correlation. These items were appropriate to provide the necessary understanding of the diversified practice in the learning of quality physical education.

Adolescence is regarded as a period of transition between childhood and adulthood. Adolescents must address a range of biological, social, emotional and psychological transitions to successfully enter the adulthood (Roker & Coleman, 1998), and preparing for a lifetime of physical activity is also a central aim of person (Sallis & McKenzie, 1991). Hence, developing an environment supportive of physical activity and sports would be a major means to increase the participation levels for adolescents. This study aims to examine differences in motivation to participate in physical activities and sports among students of three age categories, namely, early adolescence, middle adolescence and late adolescence. The result of factor analysis yielded a 19-item, four-factor structure on the participation motivation questionnaire (PMQ). Significant differences were found for all three age categories on the two extracted factors of sport action with friends and social status. Further, a significant difference has been identified between sex’s students on the factor of health and fitness and social status. There are varieties of reasons for children to participate in sports (Gould & Petlichkoff, 1988). The reasons such as enhancing well balanced physiological, psychological and sociological status as well as developing athletic talent are some of the contributing factors (Gould & Carson, 2004). As burnout is a highly prevalent factor for adolescent athletes, it arrests with attention and becomes an important part of discussion among researchers from the field of sports psychology. In India, sports is still an unsystematic discipline and rarely any research work has conducted before in this area. It has been seen that players are tremendously affected by various means such as lack of facility, cooperation from federation, coaching facility, parental support, etc. which ultimately could become potential antecedents for burnout to develop. Physical activity is known to be an important factor in promoting health and physical efficiency (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2010; Janssen & LeBlanc, 2010). Childhood and adolescence represent crucial moments of life, and lifestyles and healthy or unhealthy behaviours established at these ages may affect health conditions in adulthood (Ortega, Ruiz, Castillo & Sjostrom, 2008). It has been demonstrated that physical fitness determines lifestyle in terms of motor performance and individual's state of health, and this information has led to considerable research that has focused on varying these factors in adolescents (Catley & Tomkinson, 2013; Sandercock, Voss, Cohen, Taylor & Stasinopoulos, 2012; Sauka et al., 2011). The quantity and quality of studies relating to child and adolescent p...
