Decision is made based on the number of defectives items in an inspected batch. The objective of the model is to find a constant control level that minimizes the total costs, including the cost of rejecting the batch, the cost of inspection and the cost of defective items. The optimization is performed by approximating the negative binomial distribution with Poisson distribution and using the properties of binomial distribution. A solution method along with numerical demonstration on the application of the proposed methodology is presented. Furthermore, the results of sensitivity analysis show that the proposed method needs a large sample size .

One applicable domain of operation research is the problem of facility layout and location. In this paper, a new mathematical programing model is developed for an optimal facility location and assignment. The model includes two objective functions. The first one minimizes the total material handling and fixed costs of facility location. Because of the importance of energy and the main role of fossil fuel in transportation, the second objective function, minimizes the total cost of fuel consumption. To consider the real condition in the proposed model, the cost of fuel, is considered to increase stepwise gradually. In the proposed model the coefficients of objective function are considered to be probabilistic and some of constraints to be fuzzy variables. Using a new approach, this model can be changed to a robust model. To prove the applicability of the model, it is examined for a real condition of facility location.

Considering such a problem, this paper proposes a two-phase mechanism to coordinate multiple heterogeneous relief organizations in a decentralized HRO logistics network. To address such a problem, first a bi-level mixed integer linear model under the demand and supply uncertainties is developed, and then a capacity sharing-based-coordination mechanism is proposed. To solve the model for large-scale instances in an acceptable computation time, a fuzzy Kth-Best algorithm is developed. Finally, to validate the proposed mathematical model, we compare it to a centralized relief logistics model considering a computational experiment on the earthquake in Tehran, Iran. Results show that the proposed coordinated model reduced the amount of shortage and wastage in Tehran compared to the traditional centralized model employed p...

The poor evaluation of these factors will impose high costs in many real applications especially for a supply chain. There are different methods for risk evaluating and their effects for ranking them. For instant, in fuzzy DEMATEL method, the experts’ linguistic opinions and preferences on the agent effects are used as the input. The important point is how these opinions are aggregated to produce less computational error. In this regard, this paper proposes a new method based on statistical inferences for a fuzzy DEMATEL approach for evaluating the factors of a supply chain. In classical applications, risk analysis treats event probabilities as certain data, while there is much penurious knowledge and uncertainty in generic failure data that will lead to biased and inconsistent alternative estimates. The ratings and attractive scores used in QSPM, however, require judgmental decisions and should be based on expert’s opinion to ensure the applicability of chosen strategies. A fuzzy multicriteria decision making method is proposed in this paper with the goal of improving the output of conventional QSPM by allowing the experts to employ linguistic terms (qualitative data) in their judgments. A TOPSIS MCDM (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution and Multi criteria Decision Making ) index is also adapted to the fuzzy QSPM in finding the sum total attractive scores (TAS) of strategies. Failure to properly assess and rank the risks makes the supply chain less efficient and competitive. Given the existence of both qualitative and quantitative criteria in a supply chain, the use of verbal preferences, given by authorities for determining the priority of qualitative factors, has higher reliability than that of the Crisp numbers. Through adopting strategies by the exclusive supplier, the potential risks in the supply chain become actual. The risk interdependencies are not involved in the effectiveness of selecting the appropriate strategy. Since a risk may be influenced by another risk in a desirable or undesirable way, estimation of the real risk value is necessary. In this paper, first, the real weight of the actual risks for each strategy is specified through a new approach. Then, considering risk interdependency effects, the amount of increase or decrease in a risk value is determined by proposing an improved DEMATEL method. The real value of each risk is a combination of factors such as real weight, actual value, and sensitivity to other risk effects. Finally, the value of objective functions for each strategy is determined and all strategies will be re-ranked by the proposed approach (three-dimensional integrated mean method). However, the proposed method is used for ranking of Exclusive Supplier Strategies or decision in this paper, but it can be used for many decision-making procedures.

It may be employed to locate the essential locations of factories, schools, fire departments, hospital establishments, and other facilities, which could be considered as a point in a plane theoretically. In this paper, a new geometrical algorithm is presented which determines the minimum covering circle of all points on a plane in four steps. The model validity was considered by studying the coordinates of points with random numbers and different distributions. In order to show the accuracy of the proposed algorithm, numerical experiments were carried out and compared with other studies in the field. In this paper, we formulate a multi echelon PDN to deliver products to customers with uncertain demand in the least time with uncertain delivery lead time. The proposed network is including multi supplier, producer, potential depot, retailer and inland and outland customer in multi time period horizon. A stochastic multi objective model with maximizing total profit of the system and minimizing total delivery lead time is designed. We apply chance constraints approach to cover the uncertainty of the model and introduce two heuristic methods named selective firefly algorithm (SFA) and ranking genetic algorithm (RGA) in order to solve several sized especially real world instances. Finally, the performance of two proposed algorithms is examined with solving several sized instances. The results indicate average improvement 6.12% and 8.93% with applying SFA and RGA, respectively.

Furthermore, the environmental pollution caused by its exploitation is far less than that created by conventional fossil fuels. Meanwhile, hydrogen has an extensive application in production of petroleum and petrochemical products and is therefore an important element of Iran's oil and gas reliant industry and economy. This paper studied the potential of different provinces of Iran for producing hydrogen by a water electrolyzer using the electricity generated from a geothermal source. This objective was pursued by using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to rank and prioritize the provinces, which were modeled as decision-making units. Validity of the results obtained through this analysis was assessed by comparing them with results of the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR). VIKOR appeared in the year 1990 from Serbian language: Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje that means: Multicriteria Optimization and Compromise Solution. In this DEA model, the decision criteria were 13 measurable parameters, of which 5 were considered as input variables and 8 as output variables, and as mentioned above its decision-making units were the 14 Iranian provinces. The results showed that East-Azerbaijan, Bushehr and Hormozgan have the highest priority and Kerman and Sistan-Baluchistan have the lowest priority for hydrogen production via geothermal power assisted water electrolysis.

In this paper, a new acceptance sampling plan is introduced in which it is assumed that every defective item cannot be detected with complete certainty. To model the problem, the probability distribution function of the number of defective items in the batch is determined through Bayesian inference, and based on this probability density function, the probability of correct decisions in different actions is evaluated. An objective function is defined for each decision that minimizes the ratio of the system cost to the system correct decision probability, including the cost of rejecting the batch, and the cost of defectives items remaining in an accepted batch. Three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the applications of the proposed models.
