Today, the amount of energy consumption in agriculture has also increased due to the need for sufficient food for the growing population. Thus, agricultural policymakers in most countries rely on prediction models to influence food security policies. This research aims to predict and reduce the amount of energy consumption in wheat production. Data were collected from the farms of Estahban city in Fars province of Iran by the Jihad Agricultural Department’s experts for 20 years from 1994 to 2013. In this study, a novel prediction method based on consumed energy in the production period is proposed. The model is developed based on artificial intelligence to forecast the output energy in wheat production and uses extreme learning machine (ELM) and support vector regression (SVR). In the experimental stage, the value of elevation metrics for the EVM and ELM was reported to be equal to 0.000000409 and 0.953...

The main focus of this paper is on the uncertainty in a closed-loop supply chain network, and a robust optimization technique is presented to overcome it. In this regard, an uncertain interval-based robust optimization model with two distinct demand streams is proposed; simultaneously, the uncertainty of shortage and penalty costs are taken into account for both new and remanufactured products, which have distinguished behaviors. To illustrate the preference of the proposed robust model, the optimality of deterministic and robust optimization models is examined in different test problems. The solution reveals that the proposed methodology performs very well in terms of the quality of the solutions obtained.

This requires the efficient operation of a supply chain planning. In this work, we consider a supply chain including multiple suppliers, multiple manufacturers and multiple retailers, under uncertainty for perishable food products. These problems were formulated into a fuzzy multi-objective programming model (FMOPM) with an aim to minimise the total cost of transportation and labour, the amount of CO 2 emissions in transportation and the distribution time of products from farms to factory and from factory to retailers, and minimise total food decay. To optimise the four objectives simultaneously LP-metrics method were investigated and used. A case study was examined based on the model that demonstrates its applicability in making an optimal product distribution plan in trade-offs among the four objectives.

The problem is formulated as a mixed integer programming model that could be solved using GAMS software. As the developed model is a mixed integer non-linear programming and NPhard, a new algorithm for re-formulation is proposed to change it to a mixed integer leaner programming. Also, a new heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve it in a reasonable time. To prove the applicability of the model, the well-known real CAB data set is used. Numerical examples show the benefit of the proposed model in both solution time and result quality.

Also, it is widely known as an effective approach to monitor the processes. One of the issues that have been discussed in recent years is recycling industry which is the process of transferring used material into the new products and materials in order to prevent waste of potentially useful materials with the aim of reducing the consumption of raw materials in the production and technology cycle, reducing energy consumption and air pollution. What is important in this content is moving to produce recycled products with the Standard quality organizations for recycling and reuse in the production process or use as an ingredient in other manufacturing industries. This paper shows the application of quality tools such as Statistical process control in the manufacturing process in the machinery or...

Consumers can search a product in an offline store, and then they buy it in an online store. This paper investigates the influence of channel synchronization on the supplier, the retailer and the entire supply chain in the dual-channel supply chains. Contracts are valuable tools used in both theory and practice to coordinate various supply chains among synchronization mechanisms. This study presents a hybrid model with a new demand function and surveys the effects of free riding on sales effort in a dual-channel supply chain comprising of one manufacturer and one offline store. To achieve beneficial outcomes, this paper considers a cost-sharing contract to synchronize a dual-channel supply chain. Finally, we focus on the expansion of the model in the stochastic demand solved by the genetic algorithm.

This paper investigates a fixed charge transportation problem (FCTP), in which there are different routes with different capacities between suppliers and customers. To solve such a NP-hard problem, four meta-heuristic algorithms include Red Deer Algorithm (RDA), Stochastic Fractal Search(SFS), Genetic Algorithm (GA), and Simulated Annealing (SA) and two new hybrid meta-heuristics include hybrid RDA & GA (HRDGA) algorithm and Hybrid SFS & SA (HSFSA) algorithm are utilized. Regarding the literature, this is the first attempt to employ such optimizers to solve a FCTP. To tune up their parameters of algorithms, various problem sizes are generated at random and then a robust calibration is applied by using the Taguchi method. The final output shows that Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm is the better than...

In addition, it guarantees a certain level of customer service in the form of horizon at 95% level of confidence. Probabilistic waiting time may lead to lash effect throughout the entire chain, and causes shortages at different levels. Therefore, cost of facing shortages is considered in the model. After modeling, the problem is solved in probabilistic state, and to solve larger problems imperialist competitive algorithm is used. Results indicate that SCMPC is computationally very efficient, and offers significant advantage over the robust and stochastic optimization.

The orders of the customer are presented with a due date. Each order is scheduled and assigned to one of the machines according to due date, delay weight and penalty of increasing of due date and shipped in the batch. The problem is known as NP-hardness, therefore a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is proposed to solve the problem. The results are also compared with the CPLEX solver in the GAMS. Finally, sensitivity analysis for the problem parameters is performed in relation to the objective function. The results showed a direct relationship between objective function with the weighted tardiness and processing time, also an inverse relationship with the number of machines and vehicle capacity.

Therefore, appropriate risk assessment and ranking are among the top priorities of managers and experts in the supply chain. Because there are several quantitative and qualitative risks in the supply chain, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) and, in particular, multi attribute decision making (MADM) methods are used to rank them. Depending on the type of supply chain, the difference in criteria and information available, it is possible to use existing MCDM methods to rank supply chain risks or introduce new methods. In these methods, options are compared on the basis of different criteria according to mathematical methods. Each of these methods uses their own approaches and assumptions. Therefore, there will be different solutions to the ranking. In this case, one or more methods may be selected as the best method. But it cannot be sure that the superior method is chose...

Therefore, it seems that right decision making for agile and efficient management in disaster management is not negligible. Due to designed network in the past, current entities, facilities and network may not be optimal and to a great extent usable. In this paper a comprehensive model and solving approach have been proposed to redesign the relief network in dealing with the preparedness and response phases. In this regard, previous investigations on the preparedness phase have often been limited to the location of eligible facilities without considering other important factors such as current and working assets, entities and configuration. Thus, the present study proposes a reconfiguring and repositioning model in order to simultaneously assess whether existing distribution centers should remain, be consolidated or phased out as well as whether new facilities should be established and subsequently supply and demand requirements consideration. Moreover, in the proposed model, multi-stage stochastic programming has been implemented on a real data gathered by ArcGIS Software and demand scenarios derived from relevant references. The results based on a real case study in Tehran indicate definite advantages in the re-positioning or reconfiguring model compared with current configurations.

In the last century, the role of copper, as the third most widely used metal, after steel and aluminum, has been crucial. Copper is a recyclable metal. It has many applications such as industrial electricity, plumping, wiring, electronic equipment, transportation, and infrastructure. Today, with the growth of the industry in societies, the demand for copper has increased. This motivated us to study its supply chain network design firstly. To the best of our knowledge, there is no research reported about copper supply chain network design. This paper aims to maximize the profit of the copper closed-loop supply chain. We formulate this network design problem as a Mixed Integer Programming model. The model is considered as single-objective and multi-product. The exact solution of the model is found by using GAMS software. Sensitivity analysis results provide useful results that managers can use them in decisions.

Potential production policies and distribution strategies for the newly manufactured product have attracted significant attention to sustainable development. Sustainability in supply chain management has much importance to achieve eco-friendly goals. In this study, we have developed sustainable objectives in the supply chain optimization framework with different constraints. The trade-off between economic, environmental and social effects objectives have identified by ensuring the optimal allocation of different products among various levels. In this regard, a new sustainability multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming mathematical model in the medicine supply chain network is developed. Although the proposed model is an NP-hard problem, we develop a novel hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm to achieve Pareto solutions. Then, to adjust the important parameters of the algorithms and chose the optimum levels of the significant factors for more efficiency is employed the Taguchi method. The results show that the economic and environmental effects tend to be decreased and the social impacts tend to be increased in the medicine supply chain network which can exhibit the best sustainability performance. The various outcomes of numerical experiments indicate that the proposed solution algorithm is more reliable than other algorithms. The solution methods are complemented with several sensitivity analyses on the input parameters of the model.

In the last two decades, the field of disaster management and humanitarian logistics has earned more attention. Design of relief logistic network as a strategic decision and relief distribution as an operational decision are the most important activities for disaster operation management before and after a disaster. Since related information can be updated after disaster, we consider a relief helicopter to satisfy the lack of inventory in different depots. In the proposed mathematical model, pre-disaster decisions are determined according to different scenarios in a two stage optimisation scheme. Moreover, we present a meta-heuristic algorithm based on particle swarm optimisation (PSO) as a solution method. Finally, the model for two stages of disaster management is established for several instances. Computational results based on three approaches confirm that the proposed model has proper performance.

Through adopting strategies by the exclusive supplier, the potential risks in the supply chain become actual. The risk interdependencies are not involved in the effectiveness of selecting the appropriate strategy. Since a risk may be influenced by another risk in a desirable or undesirable way, estimation of the real risk value is necessary. In this paper, first, the real weight of the actual risks for each strategy is specified through a new approach. Then, considering risk interdependency effects, the amount of increase or decrease in a risk value is determined by proposing an improved DEMATEL method. The real value of each risk is a combination of factors such as real weight, actual value, and sensitivity to other risk effects. Finally, the value of objective functions for each strategy is determined and all strategies will be re-ranked by the proposed approach (three-dimensional integrated mean method). However, the proposed method is used for ranking of Exclusive Supplier Strategies or decision in this paper, but it can be used for many decision-making procedures.
